Goldener Hirsch Hotel stands in the baroque centre of Salzburg, City of Mozart, in the famous Getreidegasse. It's rich in its tradition of luxury and combining the romantic magic of the 15th century with the luxury of a modern five star hotel.

This warm and inviting hotel considers each guest a "friend of the house." You'll be warmly welcomed and happily served in a very special atmosphere of locally crafted furnishings and antique artwork. It's just part of the reason we were named one of the "Top 75 Hotels in Europe" by Condé Nast Traveler in 2005, to their 2004 and 2005 Gold Lists, and a 2004 Readers' Choice winner. Travel Leisure magazine also named the hotel one of the "World's Best" in 2004.

"What a charming place!"
Just returned from a 5 night stay in Salzburg where we stayed at the Goldener Hirsch. The staff was attentive and helpful, the restaurant and bar staff were extremely considerate and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to experience the charm of Salzburg.

The Goldener Hirsch is one of the oldest hotels in the city, located in the old section near many of the nicer shops. The rooms are wonderful, the staff friendly and courtious, the bar and restraunt are phenominal, and the Hirsch cafe next door has some of the best food around. Well worth the money.

The Goldener Hirsch is the best hotel in Salzburg. The Hirsch is the most conveniently located for walking Old Town. The hotel is wonderful and charming, with rooms containing Austrian antiques from the early 1800's. We have stayed at the Hirsch on many occasions and have always enjoyed the hotel. It sounds weird but, of all things, we have found the Hirsch to be internationally known for it's scrambled eggs. We have encountered travelers in several countries (including the USA) who immediately identify the Hirsch by the scrambled eggs. It's crazy. But true. We are heading there again for the eggs in Sept 2005. Great hotel.
