"Billion dollar view"
My husband and I booked into the Graal for a friend's wedding in Ravello. I had read some poor reviews of the hotel, mainly regarding cleanliness, but booked in as the rest of the wedding group was staying there.
I'm glad we gave it a chance! The rooms all have an incredible view, regardless of the room level / price you choose, and even the base level rooms, which have not been renovated as recently, are in excellent condition with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and simple but stylish furniture (given there were a number of us staying there, we had a chance to compare pretty much all levels of room and they were all good).
The service was polite and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was superb (ask for the Gnocchi!). The pool was old but in good shape - they do however, insist that guests wear bathing caps in the pool to help keep it clean - a bit of a laugh, but go along with it!
And the view cannot be described - it was incredible - from every room, the pool and the restaurant - it takes this hotel from being standard to being worth the price!
I would recommend the hotel to anyone, given it is close to the main piazza of Ravello and the centre of town, as well as the bus stop and taxi ranks. And I would recommend Ravello over Amalfi or Positano - with it's views, lovely gardens, exquisite food, and quieter location, it is worth staying in!
