"Loved it!"
My wife and i stayed in this hotel last week, and we have only superlatives to say about this place. It's conveniently located, nice helpful staff and the rooms and beds are big. The bed was very confortable. The curtains are automatic and you can operate it using the console. The toilet and bath was also big, with a separate tub from the shower area. We were fortunate enough to get a room with seaview on the 6th floor (which is the top floor) and the views were spectacular. We could have stayed here all week. Unfortunately we have to go back home.
The buffet breakfast was also good, with many choices and good quality selection. You can also avail of the welcome drink in the lobby (wine or orange juice).
I consider it as a grand hotel with first class amenities. They also have a swimming pool and health club. There is an exit that leads to the street facing the marina where all the boats are parked. For ice cream lovers there is also a Haagen Dazs store right in that exit, so you can't miss the hotel.
Definitely plan to go back!

"One of the leading Luxury Hotels in Palma"
Stayed for a few days on a Winter Break from London. The Gran Melia Victoria, is the Sol Melia's flagship hotel in the city of Palma, and at the time, had been recently remodelled, as is one of the classical, older hotels right on the busy Passeig Maritim, or Waterfront facing Palma's Port.
Great location for those who like the surrounding nightlife, as it's just outside the Hotel's front (discrete, almost hidden) entrance to the Paseo Maritimo, right by the pool. Only steps away are"Tito's" -which used to be a famous, open-air nightclub until the 1970s, and is now an enormous enclosed discotheque with fabulous views over the Port, with the Cathedral in the distance, "Victoria's Boite" and "Pacha" (same ownership as the ones in Ibiza and Madrid) is just a short stroll away. Many other bars, good for people-watching are right outside. Go for a stroll, after a late dinner, as the nightscene doesn't get started until 1:00 AM.
Rooms are very comfortable, and despite being between two busy streets, it is very quiet inside, an oasis of tranquility, with Radio/CD Players, and curtains are controlled electrically.
Breakfast was served buffet-style, very good value for the money, especially compared to London, from where I had just flown in from. Didn't have any other meals at the hotel.
Maid service was unobtrusive, I never saw them. Must have some system which informed them when the rooms were occupied. Well-appointed rooms, free valet parking.

"Good hotel"
This is a rather sumptuous, luxurious old style hotel which was refurbished a few years ago. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a front seaview room but since we found traffic noise a little intrusive moved to a side seaview room. IThe rooms are well furnished and spacious and lights and curtains operated by a console at bedside. This caused a few laughs when we pressed the wrong buttons in the dark! The beds were comfortable and there is a pillow menu so you can choose either goose or duck down in your pillow!
The breakfast buffet (included in our room price) was adequate. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, bread rolls and pastries. Did find some of the offerings in the buffet a little strange - not keen on pizza squares for breakfast!
The hotel has beautiful views of the harbour and all in all our stay there was relaxing and comfortable.
It is a 15 - 20 min walk along to town (5 mins in a taxi) but not too arduous.
Restaurants along the harbour were not that exciting but we found a nice tapas bar in town called "El Pilon" just off Paseig de Born. Great ambience and great food. Go early though - it's small and gets very busy!
Palma Cathedral is stunning and well worth a visit. The Museum of Contemporary Art is worth a visit. Lots of Miros and Picassos. Their open air terrace restaurant offers super views.
Palma old town is like a mini Barcelona. Ideal for a break.
By the way the weather in April was fantastic. Sunny every day and around 68 - 70 C.
