Wonderful Stay
Arrived early at the hotel and was immediately given 1 room which was ready. The second room was ready later on in the afternoon. Room service excellent, though mini bar prices a bit steep. Staff excellant went out of their way to help you and give you information as to were to sight see and the travel options. We opted for the two day tourist pass on the Barcelona tourist bus which worked out better than ordering a Taxi or getting the train service. Two days not enough to see this beautiful city. Going back again to the same hotel. |

"Sleek, modern hotel"
This hotel is quite modern, with a full panoply of ammenities. The rooms are quite large--our bathroom had both a shower and separate bathtub and was lovely. The decor is minimalist. The staff are quite friendly and willing to go to lengths to book you dinner and dance clubs as required. A concierge desk would be a nice feature. Be aware that there is a 6 euro charge to use the spa and pool. The fitness room was free and had decent equipment for a hotel gym. The hotel is located in quite business district, but is easily accessible to two metro stations. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Excellent staff!"
We booked this hotel last-minute and really didn't know much about it except that Hotels.com gave it 4 stars. We were blown away by how great the staff was! During our trip, our real estate agent was closing on the sale of our home back in the States and the front desk was able to coordinate us overnighting the paperwork back to them without any problems. They handed us maps (without us requesting them) and circled major attractions and told us about the 10 trip Metro card that we could buy (and share). Our room was gorgeous with a wonderful view (19th floor). I would definitely stay here again!

"Would recommend this hotel"
This hotel was less expensive than more central ones, but had fantastic access to public transport and was of a high quality, both of which made it very worthwhile.
We travelled by train from the airport to the Sants railway station, which is literally right opposite the hotel - look up and you will see the name opf the hotel across the square. The same station also gave acess to the metro which brings you all over the city. A T10 ticket gives 10 journeys on metro/bus/tram and is very good value.
Ask for a room on as high a floor as possible as you will get great views of the city and surrounding area. The bathroom in our bedroom was graet and the enormous bathtub was a godsend after walking around all day.
The restaurant on the top floor does give fantastic views but is definately overpriced. I'd avise breakfast, on a morning that you're hungry andthere is a buffet. Otherwise just go up between meals and get a few snaps if you want them.
I have recommeneded this hotel to friends who stayed there since and they equaly thought it was a great choice!

SPECTACULAR VIEWS AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL STAFF.
We stayed as a group of 13 people singles and couples. The hotel is ideally situsted directly opposite Barcelona Sants main railway station and within 100yards of the exit. the views from the Visual Restaurant are spectacular looking out across all four corners of the City. The breakfast was miore than adequate with Bucks Fizz available every morning as a treat. The rooms were large and beds were comfortable.
I would not hestitate to stay herer again and woiuld recommend the TC to anyone visiting Barcelona for a break. |

"The most romantic break in the most romantic city"
When we think of romantic getaways, we immediately conjure up mental images of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, a gentle walk along a Caribbean beach at Sunset or even ice skating on the rink in Central Park. Never had I thought that Barcelona would be the place to give your heart - whether it is to the city or another person. Last weekend I gave mine to both.
My boyfriend and I checked into the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya on Friday 16th December for a weekend getaway. Despite lastminute not delivering their promise of upgarding us to an executive suite, the hotel ensured we still got our suite on the 18th floor, and even allowed us to check in two hours before the given time.
Our room (1817) overlooked some of the most beautiful aspects of the city, and being 18 floors up we witnessed some of the most wonderful views as the sunlight hit different parts of buildings at different times of the day. At night we could see the Magic Fountain in the distance, along with the port, the Olympic Stadium and the Christopher Columbus statue.
The room itself was luxurious, although not as big as I had perhaps expected. A CD player, mini-bar, robes and slippers, heated mirror in the bathroom which didn't steam up when the shower was on, chocolates on the pillows and a doorbell to the room were all little extras that led us to feeling that extra bit special and pampered.
The restaurant in the hotel is situated on the 23rd floor, with amazing panoramic views of the city. The breakfast is wonderful and with the ability to eat as much as you like, it definitely sets you up for the day. However we were unable to eat there during the evening as there wasn't a vegetarian option. The lounge bar is also a lovely place to stop for a drink before you embark upon the city, and is by no means expensive.
The city itself offers something different depending on what you want from it. It's the sort of city that is very sure of itself and doesn't need to try to win you over... it simply does. Must see sites include Camp Nou Stadium tour, the Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas (but watch out for over priced restaurants), the Harbour and the open top tour bus which is freezing in December but gives you a much wider perspective on the varying elements the city has to offer.
But the most wondrous, magical, romantic surprise of the weekend was the Magic Fountatin which is situated next to the Espanol metro station. Buzzing with activity and noise, the avenue leading up to the magic fountain is decorated with tens of fountains lining the road. The fountain itself is a multitude of colours and is choreograophed to music. This to me was by far the most romantic experience of my life, the sheer force of the water and the occasion making it difficult to fight back the tears.
All in all I would recommend Barcelona to everyone as there is something to satisfy all tastes and needs. There is certainly plenty for us to do when we return and I am sure we will visit some old favourites too.

"A Hotel to match the city."
Having just spent 4 days in the amazing city of Barcelona using the Torree Catulunya hotel as a base tops it off the location is oposite the santos station which gives you accsess to every part of the city and tourist attractions, 12 euros for a 3 day unlimited metro and bus pass was excellent value. The magic fountain which is located just behind the hotel is well worth a visit on a Friday or Saturday night for a stunning display done to music. The hotel caters for your every need wewere lucky enough to have had a room on the 19th floor with stunning views over the city the decor was very simple and modern making great use of soft lighting and mirrors along with a huge bathroom with a walk in shower room and big bath the room was cleaned twice a day and was spotless. The panoramic resturant on the 23rd floor really does blow your mind with the view overlooking many of the citys landmarks. The evening menu will not be to everyones taste and probably won't fill you but well worth a try for a night. we found ourselves eating around the ramblas which is only a few stops along the metro line. The spa area in the hotel is small but offers everything from saunas and steam rooms to a dip pool with hydro massage but note that children are excluded from this area. If you are looking for a city break with excellent accomodation this is it.

"Amazing!!"
This hotel was beautiful. We stayed in an Executive Double for around $80 a night! We had a corner room with an amazing view. I could not believe how huge this room was, and it had two bathrooms with a separate living room.
The restaurant was very expensive, because you were paying for the view; we decided to order room service (burgers). Funny, but we got our breakfast from the train station every day. There were a ton of shops and all had great food and prices.
The underground station was just across the street and was so easy to use. You could get all over the city this way and in just min. I would recommend seeing every site on the map especially Güell Park (if you do not like walking then take a taxi or bus to this park)! I would also recommend swimming on the beach and then walking up Las Ramblas in the evening for entertainment and Tapas.
We will definitely stay here again when we come back!
