The midday cannon is fired daily below the parapet. Further ahead there is an old stump; here once stood the oak tree beneath which Tasso used to sit.

From here as well, you may glimpse spectacular views of Rome: Castel Sant'Angelo, the Dome of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, the Dome of San Carlo al Corso, Trinità dei Monti, the Quirinal Palace, the Pantheon, the Dome of Sant'Andrea della Valle with the lower dome of the Church of Jesus. In addition, guests can see the Militia Tower, with the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, and the flat façade of Santa Maria dell'Aracoeli.
