"Honeymoon Delight"
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Majestic whilst on our Honeymoon in July 2004. Upon arrival they did not have any record of our booking. The hotel, on discovering that we were on Honeymoon looked after us in the most amazing way. We were given a junior suite for the price of a regular room. The room was spectacular. We had a terrace that overlooked the lake and was perfect for late night drinks. We were originally only going to stay for 2 nights but as it was so relaxing we ended up staying for 3. Every evening they bought champagne to our room. I cannot fault the hotel and only need to add the fact that Italians really do know how to look after Honeymooners ........!!

My husband and I and friends, husband and wife, returned on 8th June from a most fantastic holiday spent at the Grand Hotel Majestic, in Pallanza on Lake Maggiore. We had stayed there in 2002, since which thay have upgraded the whole place. This is a gem!! It's position on the lake gives the most fantastic views, although not from the rooms overlooking the road, which is one way with the second lane for pedestrians and cyclists.We had two rooms on the third floor on the south end with fantastic views down to the town, over the lake and into the distant mountains, and we didn't even pay for a lake view, just a standard garden view room.As we stayed for a week they reduced the room price of 175 euros by 5%, including an excellent breakfast and all taxes. They arranged a mini bus to collect us from Malpensa airport and return for 300 euros. Their spa and pool is lovely, and there is a beautiful garden in which to sunbathe on loungers attended by delightful staff.It's a 15 minute walk into the little town of Pallanza, which is much quieter than Stresa and not tourist commercialised. Despite some of you reviewers comments, we found the ferry service most efficient, and reasonably priced, taking us to some wonderful places on and around the lake. If you love beautiful scenery, gardens and lovely Italian food and people, go to Lake Maggiore and stay in Pallanza.
