Grand Hotel Palatino first opened in 1968 offering an elegant and refined atmosphere. It is set just a short walk from the Colosseo and the Imperial Forums and close to shopping streets and near Termini Railway station.

The recently renovated hotel features 208 spacious guest rooms, all equipped with modern amenities. There are specially designed rooms for physically challenged guests.

"Great location"
Just back from 3 lovely days at this hotel. Rooms are pleasant and comfortable, we had an executive double with a balcony and views in the distance of the Forum. Close to the Metro which takes you throughout the city and only a couple of hundred yards from the Colosseum and walking distance to many other famous sites. Good food at the restaurant and pleasing atmosphere, staff polite and pleasant at all times. For a short break to the ''Eternal City'' this is a fine choice

"Comfortable stay..."
Hotel lived up to its expectation. Not 5-star but nevertheless, very comfortable stay and close (by Metro or bus) to all sites. Good and inexpensive restaurant (La Vecchia) behind hotel. Ask front desk to make a reservation. They were turning people away at 8:30pm on a Wed night. Typical Roman fare. Travel by bus around city is very easy - just pick up a map from a tabacco store. Definately visit Trastevere for dinner. Plenty of restaurants with locals. Overall, hotel stay was very confortable. Do ask for a room on the high floors. New Jersey, USA

"Good hotel and special restaurant"
My husband had business at FAO and the Palatino was very convenient to it. We were able to walk in 20 mins. or so, past the Colleseum, The Arch of Constantine, etc. A great location. Also close to the Capitoline Hill. The hotel was perfect for us. Try to stay on the back side, away from Via Cavour, the main street passing in front of the hotel. Breakfast was more than ample and good, with something for everyone. Recommend a restaurant about 15 min. walk away - Trattoria Monti. You must make reservations. Very good food and not too expensive. It is near Santa Maria Maggiore, Via di San Vito, 13 - 06 4466573. Also, we took a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and booked for our return from the hotel to the airport. We did not plan it in advance, but went to the shuttle counter at the airport. It worked very well and was reasonably priced.

we have been three years on the trot, going again in august06. wonderful hotel super staff so chilled and layed back.rooms clean and spacious bed linen changed daily air con in rooms. everthing you need at the hotel good pool and never to busy.home made food at dinner time really good traditional food so you dont have to move about in the heat just relax at the pool side all day. nice walk down to the centre every night to some great tavernas where everyone looks after you,if you do go try zorbas absolutely brilliant and cheap to eat and drink. met some good friends there this is why we are going again this year for there wedding. should be good. everbody always remember you. weather good good places to visit on the island. overall recommended

"what a peaceful place"
What a lovely hotel so relaxed and pleasurable. The owners of the hotel are so helpful but if you want to be left on your own you can. When we were there on one day there was only 5 people around the swimming pool. The hotel is within a lovely 5 minute stroll to the harbour where you can eat as you watch the Ionian Sea gently lap the shore. Lixouri is lovely and quiet, if you want to you can catch the ferry which will take you across the bay to Agostoli where there is a little more to do but if you want to just relak and chill this is the place to visit and the Hotel just make the holiday even better
