"Loved it"
We stayed At this hotel for 5 nights in July 2003. Perfect setting overlooking the marina and beautiful bay. We were given the room number 408 in which Frank Sinartra and Ava Gardener stayed in 1953. We were in this room for two nights, then we left for Mariefred on the steamboat from the city center. When we returned to the Grand Hotel a few days later we were given room number 323 which had a large balcony and wonderful view. although the room was not as large as the suite in 408 we were pleased it had a balcony and preferred it to the other room. Saltsobaden is a wonderful place with easy access to the city centre as the train station is two minutes walk from the hotel. There is not a lot of choice of restaurants . One close by called AcQua had good food but rather expensive. We ate there 3 nights . The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and we would not hesitate in going back again sometime in the future. The breakfast was excellent with many choices of hot or cold food. We loved every minute of our stay.

"Great hotel for the price!"
We’ve been for a week in late August and we loved it. The hotel is outside Stockholm, in a little village called Saltsjobaden, about 20 km from downtown. There’s a train every 30 minutes to and from Stockholm and it’s very easy because the hotel is in the last stop,so you don’t have to care about missing the stop.The journey takes 25 minutes and it has great views. The hotel is a beautiful building in front of the marina, the main entrance is 2 minutes walk from train station.(see attached picture).The hall is quite nice with sofas facing the sea, there is a french style dinning room ,where the breakfast is served. And a beautiful library room with a genuine Steinway piano to have a drink in the afternoon. It has also a Jacuzzi area but we didn’t go there. Our room was in the fourth floor so we had a great view of the marina and the forest , it was great to wake up each morning with that view.The room was a small one but ok for the price (102 € / night with the own hotel web page deal).It had a double-bed, a desk, a chair, a little closet and a mirror. Things to improved in the room: the closet has not shelves, only a bar with four hangers.There’s a safe box but it didn’t work.There’s no shower curtain so the bathroom is a bit mess after two showers in a row. No drawers or shelves in the bathroom. Good thing in the room: it has an iron with ironing broad, it has fridge without sensor devices so you can put your own drinks, it has a heated towel rack and the maid service is good,they kept our room as new every day. About restaurant facilites, the hotel restaurant has a short menu and expensive for lunch or dinner but the breakfast included in the rate is great, a lot of cold and hot food and don’t miss the croissants. For dinner,we went a couple of nights to Acqua, an adjacent restaurant with a good cuisine, the fish are great and the desserts are superb. If you’re looking for a relaxing holidays, this is your place.
