"Recommended!"
Very nice hotel, very friendly staff, spacious rooms, lovely and clean bathroom. Breakfast was great. The beds could be more comfortable though, they were quite hard. When we went to this hotel there were some works going on, but they were fortunately on the other side, so didn't experience any noise (and it was the weekend... that helps). The accompanying restaurant is very chic. No french fries with a hamburger here, but classy and wonderful food! Expensive but worth every cent! We had discount vouchers so we didn't pay the full price.

"Spoiled rotten!!"
Our recent stay at the Grand Hotel Waterloo was the first experience for my in-laws in a European hotel. We had prepped them for small rooms, no air conditioning and 'firm' beds. After staying at this hotel, they thought we were nuts! The rooms are HUGE by European standards. Very comfortable, clean and upscale. The hotel staff was exceptionally helpful in both German and English. (Several other languages were also spoken, including French and Flemish) True, there was no air conditioning, but the windows opened onto a secluded courtyard and were shaded by trees. Close to the Waterloo battlefield - about 3.5 km. Easy access to Brussels by car (I do NOT recommend driving in Brussels!!!) or train. Several small interesting restaurants and shops in the area. We had a lovely dinner in the hotel's restaurant, and a great breakfast came with the room.

"Loved the style"
We stayed two nights here as a family of two adults and 3 kids. We found the hotel excellent in most aspects. The Hotel is part of an old but beautifully converted sugar refinery with an expensive restraunt "La Sucrerie" that has wonderful vaulted ceilings. The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. We found the staff extremely helpful. If you like breakfast, go for it here, there is plenty of choice, at least there was for us. The hotel is located just off the R0 but is particularly difficult to find if you come from another direction. The hotel is also about 3 kms from the Butte De Lion.
