"Excellent"
This hotel cannot be faulted. We upgraded to a Creek view room which was spacious had everything we needed. Facilities fantastic - you wouldn't know you were in the city - no traffic noise no building work, check out the spa, its amazing. Service spot on, lots of choices to eat but typical Dubai hotel prices and you can get good food a lot cheaper. Only 15 mins from most of the city attractions and malls. Definately recommended, can't wait to go back.

"Grand Hyatt"
Stayed at the Grand Hyatt. Excellent hotel and service. Breakfast buffet has vast array of things to choose from. Very slick arrangement with the taxis kept slightly away from the hotel and doorman in contact with them. The kids pool is great with two mini tunnels to slide through and a whole load of water fountains. This worked out better than Wild Wadi as WW is more for adults and teens. We went during Ramadan and City centre mall is open the whole day, however, some other malls shut at 13h00.

"Fantastic hotel"
My family (3 kids, 8,11,14), my wife and I stsyed at the Grand Hyatt Dubai for 4 days in October. This hotel is GREAT. My comments:
- It is a large hotel that is simply stunning. The level of detail in the rooms, lobby areas and restaurants is unbelieveable.
- In the lobby there is a large oasis area (trees, water) the lobby and some of the restaurants are built around this feature.
- There is a large pool area with a large 'adult' pool and a separate area and pool for kids. It includes slides, play areas, etc. My 8 yr old loved it. They also have a kids club with activities for the kids (biased towards younger kids)
- There are a number of very nice (but expensive of course!) restaurants. The large 'buffet' style area is great with different types of food in a large common area adjacent to the 'oasis'. Great food with something for everyone. I also highly recommend the Peppered Crab restaurant. The peppered mud crab is fantastic - I have only seen this in the Far East.
I have stayed at several hotels in Dubai - my comments in comparison:
- Grand Hyatt vs. Intercontinental: Hyatt is a FAR FAR nicer hotel with many many more amenities. There is absolutely no comparison of the hotels. The only advantage of the Intercontinental is its location next to the creek and closer to some attractions but this is minor compared to the difference in the hotels.
- Grand Hyatt vs. Emirates towers: Hyatt wins on all categories, particularly for families (Emirates is a very nice business hotel). The only advantage of the Emirates is its proximity to the convention ctr.
The only negative of the hotel is that it is a bit far (20 min cab ride) from some of the attractions (Wild Wadi, Jumeriah Beach area). But, this is the only negative, it is a fantastic resort that is amongst the top few hotels I have ever experienced.
I have seen a comment referring to the negative attitude of the staff. My experience was 100% the opposite. The staff always had a smile on their face and could not have been more helpful.
