Welcome to Laerdal’s Hotel Grandane. A stone’s throw away, you will find the idyllic village settlement of Old Lærdalsøyri. Laerdal is located innermost in the Sognefjord. Part of the Sognefjord - the Nærøyfjord - was given world heritage status in 2005. World-famous attractions such as the Flåm railway, Borgund stave church, Aurlandsdalen valley, Jostedalsbreen glacier and the Nærøyfjord are all found close to Laerdal.
A visit to the antique and handicraft shops in Old Lærdalsøyri is also recommended, or drop by the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre.
The guests are mainly tourists from all corners of the globe. The very first tourists to visit the area were English salmon fishers and European royalty. Today, visitors arrive to experience the impressive nature, particularly the Nærøyfjord and Sognefjord. Close to the hotel, you will find Old Lærdalsøyri with its 160 listed buildings, as well as the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre. Borgund stave church, the Flåm railway and the Snow Road between the fjords are not far away.

LOCATION
Grandane Hotel is located in city center, Laerdal. From Oslo: 300 kilometres by car, or five hours’ drive. From Bergen: 210 kilometres, or around three hours’ drive. If travelling from Bergen, you can take the ferry from Gudvangen to Lærdal, a three-hour trip through the world’s most beautiful fjord landscape. You can also drive via the Snow Road (Aurland-Lærdal), 1,300 metres above sea level, with fantastic views of the Jotunheimen National Park and the Sognefjord.

* The Lindstrøm Hotel serves a buffet dinner in the high season. Prepared in traditional Sognefjord style, it comprises both hot and cold dishes. Cold dishes include fish served in various ways from traditional smoked and cured salmon to marinated cured redfish and shark. There are some 15-20 different cold fish dishes, as well as meat courses, salads and bread.
The desserts are an essential part of the buffet, with home-made cakes and puddings, fruit, cheese and biscuits. The buffet also comprises warm courses of 2-3 meat dishes and 1-2 fish dishes.
ROOM AMENITIES
* The hotel has 32 rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, telephones and 26” flat screen cable TV. We have a lift, toilets for the handicapped and family rooms. All rooms have a view of the mountains and the village of Laerdal. The Sognefjord is only five minutes’ walk away, and the bus stop is 50 metres from the hotel.
