"Did anyone who has wrote on this review page ever stay at the Grosvenor Hotel???"
I had the pleasure of staying at The Grosvenor House Hotel and can only assume that most people who write these reviews didn't stay at the same place as me. I admit on first sight the hotel is a tower block but given it's age most buildings in city centres were tower blocks. Once inside the hotel I was greeted by a very friendly young lady manning the reception desk. On checking in to the place I was given a room on the 9th floor (A fantastic view over the city)The room was very spacious and clean with everything I needed for a couple of night stay. I had dinner in the restaurant both nights which is a very large open room with large dining tables and quite modern cane furniture. The meals were of an excellent standard which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also spent two evenings in the bar one of which I was kept company by a charming young barman called Dale and we had a very interesting discussion about football.My overall impression of the hotel was that given the age of the building some things were a little dated but very clean and comfortable and the staff there are an assett to their company. I will definitely be booking to stay again and I can recommend the hotel as being probably the friendliest I have stayed in in Sheffield and I have stayed in qite a few of the upper market hotels there.

"Home from home"
Well here I am again and yet another excellent stay at The Grosvenor House Hotel. I stayed at the hotel earlier this month and have to say I have yet to have a bad night at the grosvenor house. I often wonder when I read other peoples reviews what they actually expect a hotel to supply them with..... The grosvenor house supply freshly laundered towels and bed sheets (well they always have done in the rooms I have stayed in)a clean bed a clean bathroom and a TV to watch what the hell do all these other people go looking for? I believe for around 50 quid the grosvenor house is excellent value for money. I have stayed at the Hilton for around 150 quid a night and it's terrible the staff are unfriendly and don't talk and the prices for food and drinks are inflated to make you feel you are getting something different to every other hotel group but I bet they all get their stuff from the same place for the same price and the washing is done at the same laudry outlet. All you snobs out there get real, the staff at the grosvenor house hotel are genuine, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. I will definitely always book the grosvenor when in sheffield and leave the ten bob millionaires fester together at the hiltons and holiday inns of the world.
