"Fantastic winter holiday"
Myself, husband and 4 year old son stayed at Timanfaya Palace over New Year and had a wonderful time, and I am really surprised by the poor reviews this hotel has received. We chose this hotel after reading positive reviews on TripAdvisor and it lived up to all our expectations. Reception staff were very welcoming and polite and helpful throughout our stay. Restaurant and bar staff were all very friendly and particularly made our son feel very special. The food was excellent and varied, and the New Years gala dinner was amazing, especially considering how many people they were feeding. Our room was a great size for the three of us with two large double beds and a large bathroom. For us the location of the hotel was great. It is about 1/2 hour walk into the resort centre along a seafront promenade, and is about a 2 minute walk from the beach. The only negative is that the swimming pools were not heated and were therefore cold, although the childrens pool warmed up after a couple of days. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to families and couples who want a good quality hotel in a peaceful but not isolated location, as we had a great time there.

"Fantastic Hotel, Going Back In April!"
Hi Stayed at the 'Timanfaya' 08 Feb -15th Feb '07 & had a fabulous time. We did upgrade to a 'Palace room' which is well worth it for the room, bathrobes :) etc, position of room/Views/distance to lifts also. All the staff are very friendly & helpful & the food is excellent, varied choice, defy anyone to say they couldn't find something they liked! Also one day a bottle of sparkling + present was sent to the room one afternoon for my wifes birthday. Which was a total surprise to the both of us. But a very nice touch & not had this before with out asking. Then a card to say a surprise was waiting in the restaurant. Very clean everywhere & its nice to go to a hotel & all the clientele make an effort in dress. Would definitely recommend the hotel, its positon & Lanzarote overall. Even the airport is hassle free. Going to book for April.
