"Fanstaaaatic place"
I spent only one night there (a saturday), and frankly I was a bit disapointed on a first sight, hotel close to roads and train station, small reception, not so well informed about best place for skiing but but but, after one night there and a fabulous diner at the top 2 stars "gastronomique restaurant" I can tell you that was one of my best experience in an hotel !
Service is excellent, very attentive to any requests. (A driver can drop you on the slopes and pick you up at the end of the day !)
The room (#304) was very nice, newly furbished I guess including flat screen etc ... btw I loved the bathroom !
we tried the restaurant and I confirm that the "chef" deserve its top rating ... and I can tell you that I am quite difficult with food !!
At the end of the day I recommend to anyone this place for a nice stay in chamonix! |

"A Wonderful Experience"
We just spent a week (jan 14 to 21) at the Hameau Albert 1er. We stayed on hte first floor of the "Ferme" and had a wondeful time. The room was impeccable, most of the staff is really helpful. The driver brings you wherever you want to go, from the slopes to the interesting sightseeing places around Chamonix. The restaurant Maison Carrier is great and its Maître d'Hôtel is quick to understand your needs and to accomodate it. The swimming pool is OK (although not so hot....). ONly downside is the staff at the Albert 1er retaurant (main building). they're young, and while they seem to be willing to do well, the result is a non-friendly atmosphere and they sometimes look like they would like you to hurry and get out of there. As we were on half-board, we switched and spent most of our meals, including lunches, at the maison Carrier. All in all, a wonderful (but costly experience), but it really was worth it. We will definitely stay there again next year. |
