"fab time had by all"
we had a fab time, the room was very spacious - 1 double bed, 2 singles and a cot. and plenty of room for our luggage/toys and manouvering. it needed a lick of paint but that was no big hardship, it was clean. the meals weren't spectacular but plenty of choice and tasty enough. the staff were all more than helpful - exept possibly the reception staff. keep your eye on 1 waiter (dark skinned, young) he worked the floor i.e. pool, terrace and bar snack area. he liked over charging for drinks - and obviously pocketing the excess!! can't remember his name. the hotel was ideally located for us, it's just slap bang in the middle of sna antonio and the bay, so just walk out of the hotel either direction and a short walk brings you to which ever is your taste. (right for clubbing/nitelife and left for family orientated) the hotel evening entertainment finished around 1230 hours and the was peace and quiet by around 0100hrs. we heard the occasion shout from the promenade walkway which runs along the back of the hotel leading to s.a. and the bay, but nothing that kept us awake. there's abit of drug dealing just outside on the walkway but that seems to a be a problem throughout san antonio. at various points the dealers sit and wait of offer their wares!!!
for family entertainment we usually went to the bay, heading for "the bull" and a few other amusment/fun pubs. these pubs had bouncy castles, bungy trampolines, trampolines, mini roller coasters, etc. all geared up for the little ones. the bull was buy 1 get 1 free on drinks (3.50euro for 2 pints)
we were half board but ate out a few times: taffy jones'es welsh pub, paco's and glass were just left out of the hotel and along the road a short distance - all very tasty and well priced. but the best we had was "james browns" (left out of the hotel and just keep walking, about 15 - 20 minutes on the left hand side of the road. we paid 35 euro for 3 course dinner for 2 adults, 1 child ate free, and 5 pints, 3 soft drinks and a slush puppy!!! bargin
i would totally recommend the hawaii. one down side about it was the queuing to get a sun lounger every morning - the pool men are working around to clean until 0900hrs and you don't get anywhere near it until then, a queue was forming most mornings from around 0815hours. best tip is to go out via the front door and queue at the side gate - they open that first. and be nice to the pool men

"Would defo return to Hotel Hawaii!"
2 Adult travellers - late 20's early 30's.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Hawaii. The room was very clean - excellent air-con - and I found a very high percentage of staff very friendly and helpful - particularly the bar staff.
The only thing that annoyed me was people taking sunloungers (placing a towel on them) and then going off for several hours - with it being peak season - there were sometimes no sun loungers available. This is not a major thing as there is a beach near-by - literally a one minute walk! - where sunloungers and umbrellas can be hired for the day.
There is a hotel ferry which saves a lot of walking 2 euros per person, per trip!
The Hotel is, in my opinion, in the perfect location as I didn't want to be out in the sticks or in the thick of all the noise.
The food was excellent and the restaurant well staffed and kept in order - tables cleared promptly so many tables available to dine.
My partner and I loved walking round to Cafe Mambo and Del Mar to watch the sunset. Although expensive to drink round there eg. bottle of rose wine 22 euros! House Rose in restaurant elsewhere 9 euros!
An excellent restaurant we dined at called S'Embarcador is right near the hotel and has fantastic views of the harbour - well worth a look - although it is pricey.
I would defo go back to Ibiza and would stay at the Hawaii.
Emma (and Tom) Nottingham. UK.
