" friendly and helpful staff "
The staff is unfailingly gracious, the hotel is spotless and beautiful to look at. I was there for a meeting, and the staff support for our 100-attendee meeting was flawless. The breakfast is typical of a good European hotel, which is to say that it's very nice indeed.
On the debate regarding the sleeping rooms, I had one of the "deluxe" rooms with the colored glass windows in the front of the building, with an excellent view of the river. I thought the room was excellent in every respect---comfortable, quiet, functional, and beautiful to look at. Though I didn't see my colleague's room, she said that is was somewhat disappointing. So, though I wasn't paying the bill and don't know the price difference, if you have the opportunity you should opt for a better room, she definitely thought it would be worth it.
As for the wireless connection comments: I didn't try it myself, but others at the meeting reports persistent problems with it, and were not able to use it most of the time. But I don't hold that in enough regard to knock any points of the rating, the hotel is outstanding.
