LOCATION
High Tech Avenida Hotel is located on a corner with Madrid's Gran Via in the main shopping and tourist area with museums and attractions close at hand. It is situated in the city centre, on the corner of Grand Via Street, which is the main shopping, cultural and entertainment area of Madrid.
The Puerta del Sol, the Plaza Mayor, the Royal palace and Prado's museum are within easy walking distance of the hotel, as are the many cultural museums and attractions of the city.

"A great choice"
A great location, at a walking distance of the greatest attractions of Madrid, very clean, with all essencial ammenities. A subway station is very close and lots of restaurants, bar and stores are within a very short distance. The staff is helpful and the price was excellent, mainly because it was high season (1st week of July).
A remark: a very good buffet breakfast for only 6,50 euros. A bargain!
When in Madrid surely I would come back to this hotel.

"Wonderful!"
This hotel is in a great location and very new and clean! The lobby seemed older, but the rooms upstairs were spacious and very clean and nicely decorated. I would definately stay here again, or any other High Tech hotel! It sounded like a video game, I had never heard of the chain before, but it was Excellent value for money!
There were also rooms that slept 4-5 people.
I have been to Madrid before and stayed at a hotel a little more out of the way. This hotel is near everything, you can walk to any of the sights you want to see, including the Prado museum. It is right off a busy street and connects with the many side streets full of shops and restaurants. This hotel was in a good area and close to everyhting you would need. They also had a nice breakfast in the morning!
The only down side was the bathroom had a glass wall, opaque, but there was a clear cutout motif right infront of the toilet! It was a nice new bathroom thought. Another hotel in Madrid had this kind of bathroom too, I have never seen anything like it.

"Loved this hotel!"
The High Tech Avenida was amazing. We stayed in October -- FOUR People in a family room. 1 King size, 1 set of bunk beds, was a beautiful room, very large, comfy beds, internet with computer in room, great reception area, free breakfast! Very friendly people at the front desk, very central location. Definitely a great deal all around. Would highly recommend.
Downsides: no business office for services, no health club.

"good value for money via internet deal"
My sister, my boyfriend and I stayed at High Tech Avenida in September 2005. We paid 86euros/night for a triple with shower - special rate from the internet. Breakfast was NOT included.
We initially had problems finding this place as there were 2 other High Tech Hotels in the same area.
- great location; short walk from the main shopping areas and opposite a flamenco bar/restaurant
- free internet via cable (hotel will provide one if u leave a 20 euro deposit which u will get back when the cable is returned) - though it connects and disconnects fairly frequently making it fairly slow. I assume its to prevent people from downloading?
- good sized room for three people; i think its actually meant for 4 as the single bed was the bottom bunk of a foldaway wall bunk bed.
- windows were double glazed. We had a view of the main street and when you opened it you realized how noisy it actually is.
I would stay in this hotel again. great location!
