"Great Hotel, Very Kid Friendly"
We just returned from the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all of our friends. The first time we went to Amsterdam we went as a couple and wanted to be as near Central Station as possible. This time, we were with our 3 year old daughter. The Hilton is located about 5 minutes or so by foot to the art museums. The location is more in the middle of a neighborhood where people actually live, which makes it quieter and more filled with trees and greenery. The little shopping area about 5 minutes away is filled with trendy shops that appear to be frequented by people that actually live in Amsterdam, not tourists. We were delighted with the location and did not mind the tram or walk to the more touristy areas. However, if you are looking to be five minutes away from the cafes and the red light district, this is definitely not the right location. The hotel itself was great. Although the outside is a bit dated, the inside is beautiful. What really made it special, however, was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and worked to make our stay enjoyable. Usually there is at least one person at the hotel that is not on their game and not pleasant – not here – everyone went overboard to make sure your stay was enjoyable. They also had special children amenities which my daughter loved. Thank you Stephanie (the German person with the Australian accent)! The rooms were nice – like any other nice Hilton in the U.S. – but definitely on the bigger side for European rooms.

"Great place to stay"
We stayed here using frequent stay program points, so admittedly the room was free. I was also upgraded to the Executive Level because of my hotel program status so we did get a great deal. The room was well appointed with chocolates and lots of information about the area. It was admittedly compact for an executive room but most rooms in Amsterdam are compact and it had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, we had a beautiful view of the canal below and the room was quiet.
Breakfast was served in the Executive Lounge and the service there was excellent. It wasn't a tremendous spread but it was more than enough to suit our needs. There was also an Internet kiosk available to access the web on that level and that came in handy since we had decided to leave the laptop at home.
This hotel is not in town but was a relatively easy walk to the Museumplein and to the tram if you want to go to other places. I find the trams in Amsterdam to be an excellent form of transportation and very reliable.
We used the Executive Lounge at the end of the day for a light sweet and a drink. Wine, beer and other beverages were available. Again the service was excellent. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel but in different places around Amsterdam. I would definitely go back there again.

"Very Nice Hotel"
We have just returned from 3 nights at this hotel and were very very pleased.
It is located approx 2km from dam square and tram 16 is the best to get you to the centre.
The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, there is a lovely garden and marina and the bathrooms have fantastic power showers. The staff are also fantastic. There are some lovely touches with cotton linen and marble floors.
We would stay here again and would recommend it.
I have only given it a 4 however because of the cost of the mini bar and food in the hotel. Which quite frankly is ridiculous. 9 euros for a bottle of water from the fridge in your room i think is very poor. But for a touch of luxury this hotel is fabulous.
