"One of the most world-renowned Hilton Hotels!"
Arguably Europe's most luxurious Hilton Hotel after the Rome Cavalieri Hilton! After the renovasion of the Athens Hilton myself and my mother have desided to come and stay for one night at this hotel which I used to come and have dinners and drinks since I was a child, just to see how it looks like now, despite my parents live in the exclusive Athenian Riviera. As Gold VIP Honours members I booked an executive room but they upgrade our room to an executive plus room with the Acropolis view. The hotel was built in 1963 in contemporary style. Today is still contemporary but very elegant. The chic public areas are spacious and comfortable. The service is excellent and the staff is very, very helpfull. The rooms are large with contempary furniture and balconies facing most of them the spectacular Acropolis. As we had complimentary access to the elegant executive lounge we were able to try the hotels beverages, drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The hotels' restaurants are all very good but our favourite is the Galaxy BBQ restaurant on the top floor and the Galaxy Bar, with stunning views over the City of Athens. The Galaxy Bar is a popular night spot for Athenians. I can remember before I come to London often visiting the bar for a drink as always was the best spot in Athens for a night out. Today it still the place to see-and-be-seen as always was a favourite of locals & international celebrities since its opening! The Athens Hilton has a very nice Spa as well as, an internal and Olympic-size external swimming pool which is our favourite. Athens Hilton was always and still is, one of the finest hotels in Athens!!!

"Very nice, good location"
When the Queen of Spain pops in to stay (on the sixth floor, not on the eighth floor where yours truly was staying) then you know you're in one of the smartest hotels in the city. Apparently this was the hotel for the Olympic Committee in 2004 - and you can see the evidence everywhere, with a smartly renovated hotel, nice rooms with bathrooms which are cleverly made to use external light if possible, and friendly helpful staff.
I was there for a conference, which was well organised by the staff (of the hotel and of the conference), and the only negative thing I can really say about the hotel is that the queue for checkout was rather slow and badly organised. Oh, and the lifts were always full of confused-looking Americans, but that's probably because the conference I was at had lots of confused-looking Americans.
There's a subway stop just outside, so easy to get to the airport and/or the city centre; and the Galaxy Bar does have a great view (I've included it with this review) as well as moderately expensive prices for beer. But then, you'd expect nothing else.
I didn't try the restaurant (I was never up early enough) but lunch done by the hotel was nice, so I'm sure they were good.
Oh, and I always, for some reason, tell you what's on the television when I do these reviews. Well, you can watch CNN, Eurosport, Euronews, and BBC World. Yay.

"Loved it!"
Christmas/New Years in Athens. Really fantastic. Great hotel experience. Was upgraded to a room with a view of the Acropolis without even really asking. Staff was friendly and efficient. Beds are soft and cozy and the sheets are crip and clean. Bathtub was nice and deep. Shower was great, too. I had a lot of food requests (vegan, macro) and they did their very best to accomodate me and did a very good job. The gym is amazing -- leather work out machines and the indoor pool is lovely. I was on a family holiday but needed to use the business center and they arranged for me to rent a cell phone -- no problem. The staff in the salon is friendly and very good -- all in all -- a beautiful place to call home away from home in a beautiful city. GO!
