"Loved it"
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our honeymoon at the Hilton Dahab in August 2005. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. They went out of their way for us, happily arranging an amazing candle-lit dinner on the beach, breakfast in our room etc. All of the service we received was excellent. Our suite was lovely, though the sofa and bathroom were a little tired. The hammock on the balcony was a great touch. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. The meals we had in the Italian and seafood restaurants (Portofino and Neptunes) were excellent and inexpensive (except for the wine which seems to be pricey in Egypt). The scuba diving was reasonably priced and professionally run. The beach and views were lovely. The grounds were quiet and felt comfortable, whereas the town was busy and unattractive. The resort didn’t seem at all crowded, quite empty in fact, though that may have been the layout or time of year. I’m definitely looking forward to going back one day. Note that getting from Sharm el Sheikh airport to Dahab by taxi can be expensive (approx. £35 each way, a lot for an Egyptian taxi ride) as the drivers at the airport charge a lot and wont negotiate. I would recommend you pre-book transfers with the hotel or a tour operator if you can.
