"A little slice of heaven"
After staying in several small hotels on Split, Korcula, Hvar, I was so happy to get to the Hilton. My friend and I had a room with two twin beds (felt like sleeping on a pillow!), lots of space, and a nice shower. We had stayed at several very European style hotels before making it to Dubrovnik...I mean small, cramped rooms. We tried the spa at the Hilton...it was pretty good. And even checked out the indoor pool. The hotel is in a great location...just outside the gate into the old town. It's the perfect place to stay!

"Really Enjoyed The Hilton!"
We stayed at the Hilton, Dubrovnik for two nights in August, 2006. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the quality of the furnishings and linens, and the overall friendliness of the staff. They had a great happy hour on the patio complete with live music and fantastic drink specials. Regarding its location, I have to disagree with a previous review; though it is close to the bus terminal, I found the location to be very convenient. It's located right outside of the walled city, whcih cuts down the tourist traffic, but close enough to it that it's within walking distance. We loved the breakfast on the patio and the chilly air-conditioning. Everything was the way Hilton's used to be in the U.S.. And, if you can nab a room overlooking the water, I think this is an ideal place to stay.

"Godd Hotel, excellent location"
We stayed at the Hilton Imperial for 3 nights in March 2007 for a weekend break to Dubrovnik. Early March is still the low season so the hotel and the old town were both quite. We were upgraded to an Executive room which gave us a balcony over the main entrance and side view of the Adriatic. The room was large, well-equippped and comfortable and, although on the main road from Pile to Gruz and Lapad did not suffer from traffic noise. Two minor gripes - only 2 containers of "milk" were left on the hospitality tray each day (although more were readily available on request) and why do hotels in Europe insist on having CNN as their main English-language news channels rather than BBC World? Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet with additional items available to order. Otherwise, we didn't eat in the restaurant or use the bar or the leisure centre. The staff we encountered were consistently friendly and helpful - especially the younger concierge (who seemed to be frequently sent into town on errands!) who found us a concert by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orcehstra in Fort Revellin. They are currently celebrating the 110th anniversary of the original Grand Imperial hotel and there are some interesting photos of the old hotel on display - including some showing the damage from the war in the 1990s. The hotel is superbly situated 150 metres from Pile Gate into the old town - which was important to us on a short break. Those staying a week may prefer the hotels on Lapad or Babin Kuk with more outdoor leisure facilities. The bus from the airport stops 100 metres from the hotel (35 kuna, just under £3.50) - but note that the return journey departs from the main bus station in Gruz and does not serve the hotel. A taxi from PIle to the airport was 220 kuna. Being out of season, there were mercifully few tourists about, although a number of restaurants were closed. We recommend Lokaria Peskarija by the port for cheap seafood and Orhan (on the cove below Pile) for slightly more elaborate dishes (albeit more expensive). Following the extensive restorations, it is easy to understimate the damage that Dubrovnik suffered barely 15 years ago. However, there are several displays in the museums recording those events, which bring home the devastation to the town and the impact on the people.

"Great hotel in the best location!"
For location alone this has got to be one of the best hotels in Dubrovnik! It's 100 meters from the old town so unlike everyone else there's no need for a taxi home! We didn't stay in the main hotel but our room was a good size, service was great as was the buffet breakfast each morning. It's expensive and markets itself as a 5 star hotel, I'd say it was nearer 4 star but I'd definitely go back.

"Lovely Hotel in fabulous city"
Stayed for 4 nights here at the end of October. Room was very large and overlooked the old town and was kept very clean during the stay. The bathroom was large and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful an always acknowledged you as you passed by. Has a large lounge with an outside terrace which would be lovely in the warmer months. The breakfast was a large selection of fruit, meats, cheeses and hot items and an excellent choice of breads. The staff in the restaurant were excellent and after the first morning remembered our beverage orders. We did not eat at night at the hotel as there was so much choice 10 minutes away in the old town at much lower prices. Although the hotel is expensive it is in our opinion worth the money. We would love to go back.

"Perfect"
The hotel was simply perfect, and for 80 euro per nite at a hilton you cannot go wrong. It was everything i expected of Hilton. The staff was very polite, informative, handled every request, and spoke perfect english. The restaurant was also very good, the food and service was excellent. Although for some maybe a bit pricey and the type of service a little too formal as I am more of a McDonalds kinda guy, but again, this is a Hilton. The Croatia Air bus drops you off nearly in front of the hotel. The hotel is 2 - 3 minutes walk from the Old City. The Old City was great, friendly people, and english speaking. The sites were wonderful and getting around on foot is no probelm. You must walk the wall and try to get into Fort St. Lawrence if its open, but it seems St. Lawrence is not open so much during the off season or in bad weather. Croatia Air was also very good. We had problems getting into Dubrovnik due to high winds so we had to land in Split and take a 4 hour bus ride to Dubrovnik. The buses were waiting as soon as we landed, no waiting around. Upon leaving we also could not get out of Dubrovink so we took a bus back to Split and flew to Zagreb. In Zagreb we were put up in a very nice hotel, Hotel International and had breakfast both for free. I can highly recommend Dubrovnik, the Hilton, and Croatia Air. Enjoy.
