"Good Alternative"
We had an early morning flight to the US and decided to stay over at the airport the night before. Hilton had a good weekend price for the hotel. Check in was ok, although my room type requests with Hilton didn't seem to get through to the hotel (twice now in the last couple of months) which required a follow up visit to reception to change rooms. Staff was competent and friendly. Hotel looks nice and we enjoyed a glass of wine.
Room was clean and had all of the Hilton extras. As others have stated, it is very quiet.
Free breakfast for Gold VIP members in the executive lounge was good and I didn't see anything important missing. The view of the airport from the lounge is nice.
Getting to the airport terminal is a breeze: Walk out of the hotel to the right. You will see stairs and an elevator. Go up one level and presto - you are in the walk way from the parking garages to the airport terminal. I suppose this would only be a problem if it is raining - as you have to cover about 50 meters uncovered until you get to the elevator/stairs to the covered walkway.

"Perfectly fine Airport hotel"
I stayed here twice in April, each time using my Hilton points, as Hilton Silver.
The hotel is fine, but not extraordinary. My "above average" ranking is in recognition that it is an airport hotel, in the middle of a city it would get "neutral" at best. As described by others, it is onsite at Schiphol, but about a 10 minute walk, either inside (with a quick outdoor walk at the end) or outside alongside the World Trade Center. There is a shuttle, but we never waited for it and chose to walk since the weather is nice. If convenience is your prime consideration choose the Sheraton which is much closer to the airport.
Rooms are small, but on my second trip we were upgraded to a somewhat larger room. Both were comfortable, although decorated in a "no two pieces of furniture are from the same era" fashion. As Hilton Silver I received a small welcome gift and a nice note on both occasions. On the second trip I was recognized by the system and was able to bypass all the "show me your passport" stuff.
A perfectly decent place to spend your last night before a morning plane trip, and a great way to save the price of a hotel night if you have Hilton points in the bank. Otherwise, stay in town.

"5-Star Staff!"
We arrived from the USA at 0730 in the morning and the very freindly front desk staff happily checked us in several hours early to two fully cleaned, air-conditioned, and quiet rooms. This allowed us to shower and rest before a full day of touring Amsterdam. Access to the hotel from the airport is a 10 minute covered walk through the airport and about 50 meters of outside walk...extremely easy. A free hotel shuttle also runs every few minutes. While not as elegant or new as the nearby Sheraton, this hotel is much less pricey and offers great value. The hotel rooms were extremely clean, quiet, and had free in-room coffee making facilities. While somewhat small by American standards, our non-smoking rooms were well looked after and the two European style twin beds very comfortable (firm). I must say, the staff went out of their way to make this a pleasant stay. We had two visits by staff management to our rooms asking if everything was working and if we needed anything. Despite being on the airport, we could not hear any airport noise inside our rooms. Getting to Amsterdam Center via train from the airport could not be easier, taking about 15 minutes. Tickets were $7.00 roundtrip, trains ran every few minutes, and were safe and clean. This was absolutely the best experience we could have as we began a two week trip cruising the canals of the Netherlands. Highly recommended.
