"Loved it"
The shuttle (outside the arrivals doors and to the far right..it's not clearly marked) departed regularly. The room was absolutely spotless and had the most modern bathroom of any we'd seen in our 3 weeks in Europe. Because we arrived late and the hotel doesn't have much around it we had dinner in the hotel. Although brightly lit, the service and food were both good. Food wasn't cheap, but there was lots of it. Shuttle to the airport in the morning at 530 was prompt and took about 15 minutes

"Peaceful Oasis"
Just what travellers need - a comfortable bed and lashings of hot water, soft fluffy towels and clean robes and slippers - are you getting the picture? After a long journey a warm welcome awaited us at this hotel. We stepped into a cool calm oasis. The staff were welcoming and extremely efficient. The rooms are beautifully furnished and carpeted to a high standard. Although situated on the main road to Athens centre the hotel has excellent soundproofing to both interior and exterior noise. Enjoy a swim in the pool or switch it to jacuzzi and just relax in the powerful jets. Do have the excellent buffet breakfast if your onward travel arrangements allow, we thoroughly recommend it! Finally the complimentary mini bus service to and from the airport is very convenient. From the airport the mini bus waits in the car park to the right of the exit doors just beyond the buses. You don't need to pre-book a place from the airport but you do need to pre-book your seat if travelling back to the airport from the hotel. This is a modern and comfortable hotel with friendly well trained staff and we cannot praise them enough. The cost may seem expensive compared to general hotel prices in Greece - but it is most definitely WORTH IT!

"Perfect for a late arrival / early departure"
The Holiday Inn is perfect if you are arriving late in Athens or leaving very early. It's approx. 15 minutes from the airport by taxi (they charge you anything from €15 to €25 for the taxi, even though the meter typically says € 10), rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. There is a small pool and gym at the hotel which I found very good after a long, hot, cramped flight. Decent bar service as well and a restaurant serving OK food. A shuttle bus to the airport leaves the hotel every hour. I tried to find the shuttle bus stop at the airport but couldn't. It's not the most pleasant place to wait for a bus anyway so a taxi might be your best bet. Breakfast was quoted to me at €20, a price for which you would at least expect to get caviar, smoked salmon and a cuban cigar. Sadly, it looked nothing like this so I skipped it. Overall, the hotel is good and though pricey, it is in line with hotel rates elsewhere in Athens. Warmly recommended for a one-nighter.

"A very nice hotel if you want to be close to the Athens airport"
I chose this hotel because it was the closest hotel to the airport without being at the airport itself. After checking, I found it to be much less expensive than the Sofitel which is adjacent to the airport. I was flying out the next morning for the Greek islands, so I wanted to stay as close to the airport as possible. I took an express bus from the airport to the hotel for about 3 Euros. The bus stops in front of the hotel. A taxi to the hotel would be about about 25 Euros and would take about the same time as they would both use the expressway between the Airport and Athens. The hotel has a free shuttle bus but I arrived on Saturday (when the shuttle bus runs only for a few hours) and left on Sunday (when the shuttle bus is not operating). I arrived at the hotel, had dinner at Goodys next door to the Holiday Inn after checking out the prices at the hotels restaurant (the Holiday Inn food is not cheap!). This hotel is only a couple of years old and is very modern. The room was average size and had a nice bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Used the free internet access and the pool (a bit small but nice) in the gym area. The next morning decided to go to the breakfast buffet at the hotel, even though I knew it would be overpriced. It was 22 euro a person and definitely not worth it. I would advise going to the airport and eating at one of the many places there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to get to the airport early the next day.

"Pricey but very good"
For convenience at a reasonable price, particularly if you are driving and want somewhere for the first night, this place is ideal. We stayed a night in September 2004 and couldn't fault the place, including the restaurant.

"Close to the Airport!"
I researched hotels at the Athens airport and was happy to discover this new hotel 15kms from the airport. The Sofitel airport wanted me to get 2 rooms for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and we would have paid over 400 Euro for an overnight stay until our flight at 4AM the next morning. This was a wonderful alternative only 15 minutes by the hotel's free shuttle and it was much more reasonable (even though I still had to get 2 rooms). The hotel was beautifully decorated in an elegant, modern style. The rooms and bathrooms were even nicer than the Hilton Hotel in Rhodes. The modern rooms included marble bathrooms, bathrobes, coffee/tea, iron set and minibar. The built-in cabinetry and motorized curtains were also an added touch. We did not have time to swim but from the brochure, the indoor pool looked very nice. If you are looking for an airport hotel, I would highly recommend this.

""state of the art" Holiday Inn"
If you are looking for an alternative to the very pricey Sofitel (the only hotel AT the Athens airport), consider the Holiday Inn Attica Avenue. While not inexpensive, it is about a 20 minute complimentary shuttle ride from the airport. It is very MODERN, many amenities. The only negative - its buffet breakfast was the equivalent of $25 per person - but there is a Goody's coffee bar next door for a lite breakfast.
