"Good Family Hotel"
Stayed at the Holiday Inn over the Christmas period and was very pleasantly surprised. It was very reasonable and despite there being very guests staying everything was very efficient and friendly. A very typical Holiday Inn as regards rooms (clean and basic). Unfortunately we had a fire alarm in the early hours of Christams morning but this was dealt with very well by the staff.

"Fantastic, just great"
Parking was easy, the hotel was clean in every area apart from the usual grouting problem and cracking tiles that the Holliday Inn regularly experience in their hotels older than 3 years! Breakfast was 10 times better than the holiday inn next to the zoo (They are both 4 star, why should the food be different). On that note, 4 star food should actuall be very good, so this was still below standard for its class. Staff were amazing, the bar and fooderie staff were great. We had a problem whereas central reservations hadnt passed on our request for two cots in the room, whats worse it took the staff 40 mins at 11pm to get together the two cots, and the porter couldnt work out how to put one up so we told him to go away, by this time the kids were screaming. Forgetting that, there was a childrens play park out the back with a coupe of big trees, very nice but the fence needs mending just in case a child tries to climb out. Dont go to the holiday Inn at edinburgh zoo, go to this one. Woops, forgot to add, internet grrrrr. In this chain there is no choice to use my btopenzone pass like i do in almost every cafe, hotel and public space with WIFI. This hotel use their own provider, thats at £15 for 24 hours! I can either use my openzone pass or inclusive wifi minutes from our ISP. I was astonished to see the weeks WIFI pass, i think it was over £100!
