"Reasonable comfort, service and convenient location"
My wife and son stayed for 6 nights at Les Jardins du Marais in April. We had a Jr. Suite which was about the size of a standard US room. The room was comfortable and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping it cleaned. The room included a small kitchenette with a fridge that included water soft drinks and beer. The beds were on the hard side which was good for my back given the significant time we spent on our feet during our stay. The hotel is on a side street and is quite surprising given its relatively small frontage on the street. This is because Les Jardins is perpendicular to the street and it consists of a long open air courtyard with all rooms facing that courtyard. The courtyard, which is landscaped with shrubs, flowers etc. is a good place to relax on a bench and read. The hotel is conveniently located within a minute walk of a metro stop on the 8 line which is one stop from larger stations at Bastille and Republique. The hotel is within short walking distance of numerous eating establishments of all sorts of small museums in the Marais. Our only complaint (very minor) was the echo you heard at night from the courtyard if you tried to keep your windows open. The front desk was young, friendly, multi-lingual, and willing to answer our questions. Finally, my son left his wallet in our room after we left. It was returned (we paid the postage) fully intact after one email inquiry. In short, while there are many more expensive hotels in Paris, we felt very comfortable during our stay at Les Jardins du Marais and would recommend it.

"Nice hotel"
This hotel was a good bargain, but not as nice as the website makes it look. It's actually a series of old, converted apartment buildings. Our room average size for an urban Euro hotel. The location is terrific, a quiet area of Paris with some nice little bistros nearby. We had great weather and walked everywhere, but you're very close to the metro and no more than a 5 or 10 minute metro or cab ride anywhere you'd want to go.
The staff was friendly and helpful, but besides the front desk not many of the workers speak English (maintenance people, maids, etc). It made life a lot easier that I speak a little French---something that goes for the whole city, actually.
There were a couple of problems with the room. The tv did not work, although when I reported this on the 2nd day we were there, they sent someone to fix it immediately. Also, using the internet is very expensive. But overall these were minor complaints. For the price I found it to be well worth it. I'd stay there again.
One bit of advice on taxis: On the way to Gare du Nord to go to the airport, our cab driver charged us twice for our bags. I could see that he'd added a surcharge on the meter, but then he insisted he hadn't done so and added it manually. In other words he ripped us off, and after talking with me the entire way to the station, he suddenly pretended not to be able to understand my French. It was only a few euros difference, but it was annoying. Just be on the lookout!

"Great location, handy to Metro"
My husband and I stayed in the hotel for a week in late March 2007. The location is fantastic--next to the Metro and a great area to walk around. We had two burners, a small fridge and sink, and there was a frying pan and a couple of dishes for our use. This saved us a lot of money as there is a grocery store just a block away on rue Amelot. Also, there are bakeries close by. I recommend walking through the Marais area for a tasty falafal. The room was on the small side, and clean.

"Comfortable Stay at Holiday Inn Express Boston"
My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Boston for a week while we visited the Boston area. The room was clean and comfortable. Out the window of our room we could view the skyline of Boston which was especially nice at night. The breakfast was more than adequate, refreshments were available throughout the day and the cookies were a nice treat in the evening. The hotel shuttled us from and back to the airport free of charge which was a great service. The Andrews subway station is within walking distance and we made good use of it as the subway is a quick, easy way to get around Boston cheaply. The Beantown Trolley picked us up for our tours at the hotel and returned us at the end of the day which also was a great service. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was not with the hotel but the lack of restaurants in the hotel's vicinity. We did eat at the two restaurants that are within walking distance to the hotel and had good meals at both. However, we like to try different restaurants when we visit a city. In order to do this, we needed to take the subway to restaurants away for the vicinity which worked out okay but just was not as convenient. We were alert when we walked to and from the subway as we walked back after dark a couple of times. We had no difficulty but stayed on the well traveled streets. One must always be alert. I would not recommend walking alone after dark any where! All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

"Very Nice Hotel"
Very nice hotel. I just got back from a 5-day stay with my partner and it was wonderful. The nearest subway stop is the Andrew station on the red line and it SO close. If it's raining, the shuttle will take you there at the top of every hour. The hotel rooms are cozy, but who really wants to spend THAT much time in their hotel room when there's SO much to do in Boston?
The continental breakfast is absolutely WONDERFUL. Everything you could possibly want: bagels, English muffins, French toast, white and wheat toast, warmed cinnamon buns, hard-boiled eggs, oranges and apples, bananas, mini yogurt cups, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, 4 types of cereal, oatmeal, mini-muffins, milk, OJ, apple juice... all this is included EVERY MORNING if you book this hotel. There are also warm cookies and coffee served every night at 6... nice, eh?
There is a computer in the lobby which worked 4 out of the 5 days we were there. Hopefully parents will monitor their children's usage of it (aka let's hope the kids won't hog it LOL)
If you are arriving from the airport, be sure to have the hotel's phone # so you can call them upon arriving. The shuttle will come get you and bring you to the hotel... HOW NICE!
I had a wonderful stay and if you are looking for a nice hotel that is relatively inexpensive with FREE BREAKFAST, then choose this hotel!!

"Great hotel!!"
Booked this hotel based on the reviews here and also it's proximity to Boston city centre.
Difficult to find initially as we arrived by car, but once that was negotiated, everything else was great.
It is only 10 mins walk from the T station, which is then only another 10 minutes max into downtown Boston. The free breakfast provided was more than adequate for us with a wide range of cereal, muffins, toast, bagels etc...to fill you up.
All in all, a great hotel in a handy location.
