"Nice Accommodations"
Just finished a three night stay at the Holiday Inn Garden Court in Clermont-Ferrand; was impressed with the facility. Fortunately it was cool during my visit as there's no A/C. The windows do open, however. Was impressed with the size of the bathroom and with the quietness of the property. Nice, although somewhat sparse, furnishings. Most of the front desk staff speak English fairly well, so if you do not speak French you will be able to communicate adequately while at this hotel. Only one English channel (CNN News) on the TV. Good breakfast buffet in the mornings, and the restaurant staff was quite efficient and courteous. Within walking distance of the downtown area and shops; great patisserie (pastry shop) about two blocks south and a block east of the hotel.
