The historical part of Holiday Inn Krakow City Centre is the Parenskich Palace, now beautifully renovated and surrounded by a modern glass & concrete construction which perfectly blends with the old 19th and 20th century Cracow.

The palace used to belong to professor doctor Stanis³aw Pareñski (1843-1913) who was a nobleman in the Cracovites society and a participant of the Styczniowe uprising. Dr Pareñski gained his popularity for being an excellent specialist in internal medicine and a person actively involved in social work. Art exhibitions used to be organized in the Pareñskich Palace and everybody who meant anything during the "M³oda Polska" art period would come here. One of those people, a highly talented painter Teodor Axentowicz made the famous canvas called "Pareñskie Maids". Another patron of that art exhibition Tadeusz Boy-Zelenski took one of the maids as a wife. Jacek Malczewski, Feliks Jasiñski used to come here as well, Stanis³aw Wyspianski and read out the first fragments of "Wesele".
