"Very Clean Hotel"
The Holiday Inn Silom is a good clean hotel with large beds and spacious rooms. We liked the fact that they had nonsmoking rooms. The pool water was at a comfortable temperature, and they also have a tennis court and basketball hoop.

"Brilliant"
Booked this hotel as we were looking for somewhere to rest our heads for a couple of nights in BKK. Was really surprised to get there and find it was in a great location with fantastic staff and facilities. The room was really big and clean with a good city view which was a bonus! I would definitely go back and highly reccommend it. Take bed and breakfast - the breakfast is busy but well worth it!

"IT's All Here !"
This is a wonderful hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. From Check-in to departure was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and helped if you looked lost. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety and a pleasant atmosphere. The gym was neat and the equipment worked well. We stayed in a Deluxe room in the second part of the hotel. It was clean without odor and all the fixtures worked. Room service was prompt. Overall, really nice would stay there again without a doubt.

"Truly "At the Heart of Silom" and shopping, entertainment and more!"
Holiday Inn describes it as "at the heart of Silom." Indeed, Silom St. is at the center of everything and Holiday Inn is on average 20 mins away from any shopping area in this shopper's paradise of Bangkok. I was there 3 days after the coup and from the hordes of shopers, strollers, cars, tourists, etc., you won't even suspect a military takeover had just occurred! My stay at Holiday Inn was booked by Asiaweb Direct, with a complimentary room upgrade to de luxe--super! Great facilities (tennis court, sauna, pool etc.) and safe neighborhood (the streets become bargain markets come sundown so activity in the area does not wane at all). Room upkeep superior: hotel has a bed turndown: it was sweet to find an orchid on my pillow every night. Breakfast was at a posh dining area-- but be careful coz waiters clear your plate even while it still has food! Hotel is around 10 minutes away from Lumpini Night Market (a favorite shopping destination of tourists, and of locals for the outdoor dining). It is very near the spicy night life of Patpong, and the numerous department stores in the Silom area. A branch of Central Department Store is a few paces away from the hotel, and one can ride a "tuktuk" (motorcycle cab) to Silom Complex or Robinson's. With taxis not being a problem at the hotel, in around 20 minutes, one can arrive by cab at Siam Paragon shopping complex (for upscale shopping); or at the hypermart Big C (for awesome budget shopping); or at the massive World Trade Center shopping complex (which is sure to make the hardcore shopper surrender)! One can also take a cab from Holiday Inn to Chatuchak Weekend Market located near the airport for even amazingly cheaper shopping and souvenir hunting! Going to the airport via taxi from the hotel is common, as taxis can take you to the airport at almost half the price compared to hotel car service.

"Great value!"
Price: Paid $73 per night for an Executive Room for 2 adults + 2 children, booked on the Holiday Inn website. [Actually, the web site would not allocate this room for more than 3 people, so I had to book for only 1 child, but they did not object to the presence of the 2nd child when I checked in!] Executive Suite: You need to get this! For an extra $10 per night, you have access to the free Happy Hour (drinks and snacks) during 6-8 PM, free terminals for internet access, superior room, separate check-in, free pressing for clothes, etc. Location: Convenient to highway (which matters a lot in Bangkok traffic). All taxi drivers immediately know where it is, which is handy when you don't know Thai and so cannot give him directions. Convenient to restaurants and shopping. Facilities: Large clean room with superior service. Elegant lobby. Very good free breakfast with huge selection. Nice pool which was mostly unused. Service: We were elegantly served by the people at the desk in the Executive section. They made every effort to make sure that we were comfortable.

"A Wonderful Surprise"
I checked into the new Holiday Inn in Bangkok primarily because of its location. Being at the Rachaprasong intersection, one cannot be closer to the heartbeat of shopping in Bangkok! The hotel is newly renovated and except for a few teething problems expected from new plumbing, electrical wiring, etc..., this hotel is highly recommended. The staff were all extremely nice and the decor of the hotel stunning in its simplicity. Although the rooms were a bit small, it was nicely decorated and everything obviously smells new. The bathroom is modern but it does not have a tub, only a good sized shower area with the now customary rain-shower overhead. Breakfast offered an excellent array of goodies as well. But the icing on the cake is probably the hotel's unmatched location and the excellent room rates. If one wants superb service without paying Peninsula or Oriental prices (which can be absurd for Bangkok really), then this hotel will be hard to beat. I will surely make this hotel my new base in Bangkok.

"Super service on the 23rd floor"
Having stayed at a number of hotels in Bangkok previously, for this particular visit I couldn't find better value than a Club floor room at the Holiday Inn Silom. The hotel is well located for access to all needed to enjoy the sights of Bangkok. The Chao Praya river and Skytrain are both close by giving easy access to everywhere else in Bangkok. The hotel itself has been undergoing gradual refurbishment over the past 12 months and the results in the lobby and in the rooms are very attractive. The Club floor rooms give you access to the comfortable Club lounge on the 23rd floor with all day refreshments available. What sets the 23rd floor at the Holiday Inn apart from many of its Club competitors is the friendly and efficient staff. Nothing is too much trouble and you are genuinely made to feel very welcome. I was particularly impressed by the friendly check out and being made to feel like more than just another guest.
