enjoyed our time in Edinburgh... I was in Edinburgh for a wedding of one of my friends in April 2008 and stayed in Holyrood Hotel Edinburgh for two nights. Holyrood Hotel has a unique location, just off the Royal Mile, the main street in the old town that runs from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood. The hotel is modern, clean, and the service was friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The food was great, so do the spa and pools. We realy enjoyed our time in Edinburgh. 4.2

"Holyrood Hotel was very comfortable" Holyrood Hotel was very comfortable with the standard rooms being bigger than expected and the beds very comfortable indeed. The location was fantastic. We visited Dynamic Earth which is just across the street and also took a very informative tour of the new Scottish Parliament Building which is almost next door to the hotel and which is a stunning piece of modern design. The only criticism is that the steamroom and sauna open directly on to the poolside and despite a notice encouraging people to take a shower few did. If you like swimming in diluted sweat I am sure it is lovely but I found the prospect disgusting. Blair & Kiahna, San Juan

"soft furnishings need upgrading" Holyrood Hotel has an excellent service - staff were very considerate, obliging & pleasant. It is looking a little run-down. Some of the soft furnishings need upgrading/replacing. Sim, Luso

"Value for money" Traveling regularly, value is essential, and as many big 4/5 star hotels come with big rates it is always a gamble on if it will prove to be value. I was delighted with the value i received at the Holyrood. not cheap but worth every penny with attentive service, fab food and terrifically comfortable accommodation.

"Can't wait to come back" I was pleasantly surprised recently on my trip to Edinburgh when I stayed at the Holyrood Hotel. Our trip was made by the attentive staff and wonderful service they provided. I think a lot of establishments could learn something from the management of this hotel. Keep up the good work!

"The Holyrood is an excellent choice" The Macdonald Holyrood Hotel is a great place to stay for a break in Edinburgh. The staff are increadibly friendly and always willing to help. The hotel has a great restaurant - you must try the handcut chips and steak! Rooms are comfortable and clean and we enjoyed a few hours down in the spa chilling out!

"Perfect" Absolutely no complaints! Location was perfect, food was amazing, staff went waaaay out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Nice rooms, nice lobby.....can't say enough great things about this hotel.

Good service from website Highly reccommend using this site was a little apprehensive but all turned out as well as possible. Hotel was booked confirmed and we checked in early (10am). Hotel was perfect no complaints, nice big rooms..perhaps they could serve breakfast till later!! would stay here again and use this site to book it at discount rates.
