"Simple, clean, good value"
I just returned from Paris during which I stayed at the Aiglon Hotel. First, I booked it because of the special rate I received (stay 3 nights, get 1 night free). I knew that I would not be in the room much since I had limited time in Paris and wanted to see as much as I could.
If you want an elaborate room, don't go here. The room was clean but very simple in decor. I read reviews of a couple of years ago and apparently there was quite a bit of construction in the area. The hotel shows some signs of construction going on, but it is very minor (it appears they are almost complete).
The bathroom was very nice with a walk-in shower and appeared to be recently updated.
The bedroom was small but adequate. The windows opened to the Boulevard Raspail and was a very enjoyable view.
The hotel is in a fairly quiet area south of the main action in Paris. Either a long walk or a quick ride on the Metro was necessary to get to the hot spots. The Metro station is ~1/2 block away from the hotel.
Now the best part....the staff at the front desk was absolutely fantastic. I only wish I had asked the name of the young gentleman who assisted us. He was very eager to make our stay enjoyable. For him and his help alone, I would stay here again.
