* The Bel-Ami Cafe is the recently opened breakfast room at the hotel Bel-Ami. Opening out onto the rue Saint Benoit, the bright and airy Bel Ami Cafe is reminiscent of a large family kitchen, complete with cupboards and fridges just like at home.
* A glass roof lets in natural sunshine to light up the bar area with its Bisazza mosaic counter and high leather stools. Pedestal tables and oak leather upholstered chairs complete the effect. Open from 10:30 in the morning until midnight, the bar has a distinct atmosphere depending on the time of day.

"Bel Ami -- C'est Magnifique!"
Bel Ami is the most wonderful hotel! It enjoys a perfect location on the Left Bank ... very close to Boulevard Saint Germain and the terrific restaurants in the area ... close to the Right Bank ... close to Ile de la Cite. We arrived by car and admit that we passed it on our first drive down the street -- it is on the left and has a VERY small sign. Second time around we DID find it, and someone immediately took our luggage from the car and whisked it away for the night. The hotel has a South Beach-y feel to it ... but without the attitude. The staff could not have been more pleasant -- special kudos to Jean Emmanuel at the Concierge Desk for his great suggestions and unlimited patience! Our room was a decent size ... we had a corner room overlooking the popular restaurants below. Perhaps all the windows made it feel less small. I was concerned that there would be a lot of street noise, but there wasn't. Double-glazed windows? The bathroom was small, but functional. Only one person at a time could occupy the space. We had an early flight the next morning. We received our two wake-up calls as promised. Since we were in a bit of a hurry we only wanted cafe au lait, not the inviting breakfast buffet. When we checked our bill, I told them that we had just had two coffees, but the charge was not listed. They said it was their pleasure and it was complimentary -- how delightful! And how unusual for Parisien hotels! Bel Ami is a small gem -- we will definitely be back!

"Great business or tourist hotel"
We had a room on the back side of the hotel which was absolutely QUIET (even if there was no real view & we kept shades closed). We liked the clean European style of the hotel and the high standard of service by the young energetic staff. The neighborhood is exciting (if expensive). It's a great business hotel (PCs in the lobby); OR a hotel for an international tourist who likes modern European design & wants a sure thing (as opposed to taking one's chances w/ a family-run hotel).
