Hotel Belmondo opened in 2005, lies near the centre of Mozart's birthplace, Salzburg, just a 10 minute walk along the Salzach from the historical Old Town.

"A very pleasant stay"
Stayed here for two nights in August 06. The hotel was nicely decorated and very clean and tidy. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and very willing to help. It's around a 10 minute walk to the Mirabell Gardens and 15 minutes from the Old Town. It's also very handy to the main train/bus station - around a 5 minute walk - from which you can take a bus to the airport for only 1.80 euros.
Minor gripes are that there are no English tv channels (I'm not monolingual, however don't speak German and that was the only option) and that the price was possibly a little high for what it was. However Salzburg and indeed most of Europe is pretty expensive, so that complaint probably isn't specific to this hotel!

"Good hotel for Austria standards"
First of all this is a 4 stars hotel not a 2 stars as shown here. I have went directly to their reception, considering another very bad hotel experience in Salzburg left us without accommodation after a 1500 km journey. They made a discount and were pretty nice, conditions are above what 2-3 stars hotels and guesthouses offer, first of all the furniture was new and very nice. Staff was ok, breakfast pretty good, rooms could have been better conceived, and if you are easy to wake up be sure not to have a room with view to the front - as trafic is right downstairs. Overall nice experience, as long as rooms were clean, furniture new, and good breakfast.

"Hotel Belmondo, Salzburg:Good Price And Very Helpful And Professional Staff"
If you have to stay in Salzburg for a short time and you need professional staff, low price, clean rooms and avarage comfort go straight to this hotel; avoid rooms facing on St Julien Strasse in order to avoid the noise; many restaurants (cheap food and avarage quality, only for a fast meal) in the nearby; close both to the centre and to the business area; only Austrian channels on TV: they should add some channels in foreign languages .
