"Could not fault"
We stayed at the Hotel Bjork for 3 nights in March, i had booked a different hotel but after reading reviews on the bjork i decided to change and im so glad i did. the hotel is very clean, and only 15 minutes walk to main areas.the rooms are spacious enough with clean bathrooms, tv (animal planet gets on your nerves after a while! - its either that or sky news), you have internet access in rooms, the view from our room was not fantastic, but the place itself made it worth while. if we needed tobook a trip, reception would do this, they guided us on th best routes for driving to glaciers and other places of interest, the staff are so helpful. the breakfast was servd in the restaurant next door and ws very basic, i found that if you ate enough toast you would survive till lunch, but all in all it was not all that bad, you had the usual hams, breads, cheese, cereal and fish - for breakfast??!!
iceland - very, very, very expensive. typical two course meal in a restaurant in the main street including one drink each was around £80-£90,yes the food was good but not that good, remember to budget for this, drinks are crazy prices in fact the only thing i found cheapish, were batteries for the camera!
organised trips to the golden circle can work out a little expensive, we hired a car from the airport and did the tour ourselves, the tour is around £50 each, a car for the 3 days is £60 so you save money and get the use of a car to explore even more, dont spend all your time in the town centre, drive out and explore, this island is amazing and is not best seen from a coach.
book your car before you arrive, on the net a yaris will cost £60, at the airport the same car is £150!!!!
i will be going back to iceland as there is to much to see just in one trip, i would without a doubt use the hotel bjork again.

"Fantastic Iceland!"
We stayed at the Hotel Bjork for 3 nights in March and had a fantastic time. Firstly the hotel is very good value for money. The rooms are quite basic but very clean and have everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was more than sufficient. Our room was at the front of the hotel and had a view towards the sea and the mountains. Must also add the radiator in the room was amazing got very hot very quickly and considering our clothes and boots spent most nights drying on it this was a blessing.
There was the usual choice for breakfast and the food in the restaurant next to the hotel was very good. We found a lot of bars and restaurants served a soup of the day with a bread roll which can be refilled and wasn't too expensive. We were grateful for this as it was snowing most of the time and this really warmed us up. It was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel down to the centre. The staff were very friendly and helped us book the trips we wanted to do. Most people speak very good English in Iceland.
We went on the Golden Circle tour with Iceland Excursions which was good value for money. We also visited the the Blue Lagoon but I think the highlight or our trip was riding a Viking horse through the country side. The hotel booked this for us with a farm called Laxnes. It is a family run business and the people were very friendly and helpful. Most of the people on our excursion had never ridden a horse before along with myself. Don't let this put you off - the horses are wonderful and very gentle! Unfortunately it was cloudy and we didn't get to see the Northern Lights but everything else more than made up for this.
As a lot of other people have said Iceland is quite expensive but is definitely worth it. It is a fantastic holiday desitination with so much to do. I would love to return sometime in the future.

"the perfect hotel"
Was a beautiful hotel. Very modern and clean room which has its own independent central heating...extremely friendly staff...brekfast was a good selection in a lovely restaurant...they even put on a special brekfast for us at 5:45am (brekfast starts at 7:00am normally) as we had to leave early to catch our plane..hotel is well located maybe about 10 mins walk from main street and hotel is 30 seconds from main road which has about 10 buses that go regually up and down it. lobby has free internet access..comes very highly reccomended from me!

"Super hotel in lovely Iceland"
I booked this hotel as a treat for my wife, with the intention of her seeing the northern lights. Unfortunately, even though we went on two trips, did not see them.
However, the four days that we spent in Iceland were superb. I had read reviews of the hotel on here and was not disappointed. We were checked in very quickly and the room was large for a capital city hotel, very clean and the decor modern scandanavian which was expected. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom more than adequate. We found the reception staff to be most helpful and sorted out our trips for us making numerous phone calls. There is free internet access downstairs and a nice breakfast although I did give the fish a miss at that time in the morning!!!
The pot and pan restaurant in the hotel was great and although it may seem pricey, was in comparison with the other places in Rejykavik. We had our best meal of the trip there (Ling fish) and couldn't fault the polite service and excellent food.
We went on a few trips that are recommended. The blue lagoon is just surreal, walking through ice to get into the lovely hot pool that is so relaxing. Luckily when we went, there was only a few people there as well as us and this added to the experience. Try the Laugar spa for a lovely self- pampering experience. Great jacuzzis and saunas and a lovely relaxation room. It was no talking in there and many people were that chilled out that they had fallen asleep.
We had a superb time in Iceland and the hotel made part of this holiday with the service and friendliness of the staff, as well as the nice large, clean room. If stopping in Rejykavik I would certainly stop in the Bjork again.

"excellent customer service"
One of the friendliest places i have stayed in.
Our party of six arrived far too early but were still found a room where we could go and relax until the people in the remaining two rooms had checked out..
The rooms though basic were clean and comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfy and the duvets so warm. The bathroom was of a good size, and there were plenty of towels.
The television (though small) offered a variety of channels including information about the hotel and short films about various attractions and shops within the local area. Avoid watching the film on road safety terrified the life out of me :)
The breakfasts were appetising with plenty of choice and variety.
The staff speak english excellently and go out of their way to help. Not only werre they unfazed by our neverending questions and requests, they arranged trips, booked cars and gave accurate directions. They even went so far as to try and find out where one of the lobby decorations had been purchased after my mother decided she wanted one. (though how we would have got a 2 ft sparkly christmas tree home i have no idea.
Lastly the hotel more then adequately met the needs of the disabled travellers in our party. Although had we needed a wheelchair the slope outside to get into the hotel may have been challenging, being as it was very narrow and steep.
I do hope to return to iceland - another trip to the blue lagoon is most definitely needed - and will be booking a room at this hotel.
