"Superb Location central to everything"
This is a great place to stay b/c it is close to the most interesting areas of Lisbon, Bairro Alto, Chiado, Baixa. The Metro station is 50 yards from the hotel entrance, the best coffee shop in Lisbon is next door and the trolley stops for Belem and the Castle of St George are just a block away. The hotel is inexpensive, the staff speak English and it has good A/C. It's downsides are the rooms are spartan even by European standards and the hotel is somewhat threadbare. But it is clean and safe. Would I stay there again? Probably, simply b/c I did not see another hotel with as perfect a location.

"Very Central, in the heart of Chiado"
Rooms facing Rua Garret are very spacious and full of light, those on the back are smaler and darker. Althought the hotel needs a face lift (the lift is nightmare), rooms are clean and comfortable, equiped with TV, telephone, hairdryer, etc. Excellent good value for money if all you want is a decent place to sleep. Avoid breakfast, get out the main door, turn letf onto Pastelaria Benard and have delicious pastries and coffe for a couple of euros. It's greattest bonus is the location, in the heart of Chiado, 2 min walk from the Bairro Alto area where the night life happens, and 5 mins walk to the down town.

"2 Nights in the Borges"
Selected for its location and this was perfect. Right next to the metro and handy for bars restaurants and sights. Not the flashest of hotels, but the room was a good size, it was not noisy and the continental breakfast was fine.
It was good value for money right in the heart of the city, and we will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Lisbon.
We travelled by train so parking wasn't a problem.
