Hotel Ca' d'Oro is in a building which used to belong to the Barbaro family, prelates and diplomats in the service of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. The building was completely restored in 2000, but still offers guests the intimate and very particular atmosphere of the Venice of the past.

Walking under the archway leading to the water gate on the Rio di Ca' Dolce, you will be carried back to the age of gondolas moving to and from among the palaces, mysterious custodians of amorous intrigues and conspiracies.

The original 13th century beams and marble features in the space used as the reception hall have been preserved in perfect condition by careful restoration, and the chandelier and splendid antique mirror are specimens of the sublime skill of the master glaziers of Murano.
LOCATION

Hotel Ca' d'Oro is in a quiet corner of the Cannaregio district, where the atmosphere of old Venice has been preserved, off the tourist track and full of old restaurants and taverns. Yet all the sights are within easy walking distance: it is five minutes to the Rialto Bridge and ten minutes to St Mark’s Square.

"Excellent Service"
My wife and I spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at the Ca' D'oro and absolutely loved it! We stayed in Aug. 06 during a time where they were repainting the second floor rooms. Our room was booked on the second floor. My wife was 5 months pregnant and could not stay on the floor due to the smell of the paint fumes. After explaining our situation, the staff (Alice) went out of her way to accomodate by giving us the junior suite on the third to stay in at no extra cost! The hotel is walkable from the train station (about 20 minutes), but the water taxi also has a stop close by. The included morning breakfast was fantastic! Be wary of the free trip to Murano as the hotel does not return you. Just grab the public water taxi for the trip home. The room was very clean and the service outstanding. I would highly recommend the Ca' D'Doro.

"A Jewel in Venice"
My wife and I stayed in Venice for 12 days in November 2006. This hotel was wonderful. The location is great, near everything important, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but well appointed. Nearby restaurants had great food. We hated to leave. Venice was the best.

"Perfect Hotel"
This is a perfect hotel, location perfect , rooms above average, and a lovely views. Breakfast correct. LOCATION LOCATION!!! Be careful with te murano´s offer ( in the murano´s shop the guys are rude) and they don´t keep you back to hotel. I recomend this hotel and i would come back again.
