"Decent with good location"
Good location, walking distance from everything. Very expensive mini bar and bar but plenty of cheaper places a round including a supermarket with beer a tenth of the price!
door staff very helpful and polite - room service was late but gave us complimentary fruit bowl and chocolates to compensate so we were happy.
Recommended for a trip to paris -also close to eurostar station (6 euros in cab)

"Paris, The People, Hotel Concorde St. Lazare; PARFAIT!!"
I just returned from Paris and had a perfect trip. I stayed at The Hotel Concorde St. Lazare which is, in my opinion, a perfect hotel. Let me start by saying this was my third stay here. The first time I reserved it was purely by coincidence. I found it on a travel website and the impressive lobby made the decision for me. I had a great time. I am not one to stay in the same hotel twice because as a frequent traveler I like to experience different neighborhoods and each time I go back to a city and stay in a different area it feels like a new vacation.
However, because I traveled with my Mom and I knew what to expect from the first experience, I chose to return on my second trip to Paris to the Hotel Concorde St. Lazare because of its location. The Metro is literally next door to the hotel and there are many lines that run into and out of St. Lazare. It means less walking and changing routes. It’s also located near The Galleries Lafayette and Printemps (two terrific department stores) and the Opera Garnier. This recent stay I was planning to rent an apartment, but both my parents traveled with me, and because of their ages (67 and 73) I decided to choose The Hotel Concorde St. Lazare again because of the superb location, staff, and it's proximity to the Metro. The area is quite at night-a big concern for me-and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate their guests.
I know it can be very confusing reading these reviews. I turn to this site for reviews also, and even if many are positive, it could just be that one negative review that changes your mind. Some people are just picky by nature. I have really high standards. Some things I cannot let go and others don't bother me as much. I stayed at this hotel for nine nights and upon arrival I received a free upgrade to a beautiful deluxe room. I think it was just luck, but it was much appreciated! The staff is beyond friendly and they really go out of their way to accommodate you, the guest. One night I was awakened twice by the room next door-there was some sort of one-day conference-and I called the concierge to complain after the second time. He was knocking on their door within minutes, and the noise mostly ceased. This is a quiet hotel with double doors for soundproofing but my room was a connecting one and you can hear sounds clearer in those. You must realize that even though you reserve a certain type of room, superior, deluxe, etc, rooms in the same category may sometimes vary in size and décor just based on where they're situated in the hotel. This goes for all hotels, not just this one. If it doesn’t satisfy you, politely inform the front desk and I'm sure they will do their best to satisfy you. I would NEVER return to a hotel twice if it wasn't exceptional. Three times, it would have to be great, and this one is. They even give you Annick Goutal bath products. It is clean and there are no complaints at all. If you're the typical American traveler, McDonald's is directly across the street. However, shame on you if you go there, this is France. Eat cheese and have wine!
The concierge did quote me the wrong time for a tour in English on Sunday and I had to wait until Saturday to do it again, but he was looking in his current guidebook and sometimes they are subject to changes. When I pointed it out to him the next day, he noted it in his book and apologized to me for the error. Do your internet research and find out the correct times in advance for your own protection and if the concierge tells you something different, have him call to confirm.
Paris, as always, is a dream. First off, you should know that Americans who do not have a good time in France or think the French are rude go there with this thought in mind, or else behave this way because they are told this by the media or people who have never traveled there. This is very unfortunate and if you have that idea in mind, please stay home or go to Cancun. I feel when you travel anywhere in the world, you have an obligation to represent the United States in the most dignified and polite manner and adapt to the country/culture you're visiting. I have never had one single bad experience in France. It is important to note here that I always make it practice to approach someone speaking something in French, even if it's to say, "Je Ne Parle Pas Francais" which means, I don't speak French. I do understand and speak enough rudimentary French to be polite, but once you make the effort, the rewards are instant. Many people on the Metro offered their seat to my parents and were so polite. If someone bumps into you, you will always hear him or her say, Pardon. Go there with this in mind and have the time of your life!

"Perfect location!"
Location: within walking distance to the metro, shops, department stores (Lafayette,
Primtemps, etc.) cafes. Opera house closeby. Mc Donalds accross the street.
Staff: resourceful, extremely helpful. Vincent (concierge) will guide you.
Hotel: immaculate, tastefuly decorated. Buffet breakfast exquisite. Access to internet
in the business center (lobby) for 10 euros/30 mins. Outside calls (utilizing 0)
charged to you according to time of day, eventhough we utilized a calling card.
Room: spacious, well decorated, clean. I recommend a deluxe room and/or jr. suite.
We would certainly stay here again!

"Paris favourite"
I stayed at this hotel most recently in November however use it as my standard 'base' for all my visits to Paris. The hotel is clean, well maintained by friendly and helpful staff and I'd struggle to find a more convenient location in Paris. Most appreciated of all however is their active recognition of return guests and treatment accordingly. It is always nice (particularly in this day and age) to be rewarded for loyal custom.

"A very pleasant stay"
I loved pretty much everything about this hotel. The room was huge, especially by the Paris standards. We booked a Jr. Suite for 300 Euro/night. The room had lovely furniture and a comfy bed. The bathroom was spotless and had nice robes and toiletries. The windows looked out on a busy square, but the room itslef was completely quiet - great night sleep.
Finally, i was very surprised to see that some people complained about bad service. The front desk people couldn't be more nice and polite |

"Nice - very convenient location"
This was the hotel we finally managed to book after a last minute plan finalazition.
We stayed at two hotels during our stay in paris - Hotel France Eiffel and this one. I would really rate this high on convenience with a big metro/RER station just next door .. Gare St. Lazare.
Prompt service and clean rooms. A bit overpriced but I guess the fancy lobby (its really fancy) and the location makesup for it.
Overall - recommended
