"Very Pleasant Time at the la Paix"
I went to the Hotel de la Paix with my wife during the week-end of July 22, 2005. The staff was very pleasant, the hotel is well located and the view on the Alps and the lake is fantastic. We've paid only 215 CHF per night for the room (brunch included) and we were upgraded to a suite. I would recommend to call directly the hotel: they will give you a better rate than what you can find on the internet. If you visit Lugano, you're better to rent a car (parking is included with this hotel). They had also a brunch, which was good (European standards). The pool was also great (there's not a lot of places when you can go swimming around the lake) and they also have free internet access. Don't try to save 50 or 75 CH on your hotel room by going with a two or three stars hotel.
