"peaceful and friendly stay at thegaleno"
Hi there!
We (3 people) stayed there for a rome trip during three nights. the staff wsa very friendly and helpful to us. for the price (100 euro per night) i hink this was quite well done. i did not regret my stay there. we had a quite big room with two windows. if you now worry abuot the noice: you don't have to, the hotel lies at a secure and calm street, near the opera. just ask the staff f a room in the third floor, close the windows during the night (you will have air conditioning) and you will sleep well.
breakfast was quite okay, there was coffee and juice, diffrent types of bread, eggs, cheese, milk and tea. and if asked, the staff got us some lemon for the tea, so we enjoyed the meal. it was a quite good start into the day!
by the way, the hotel lies in the middle oftwo metro stations, th "termini" and the "piazza della repubblica", go to termini, from where its a five minute walk into the hotel. there are plenty of buses in rome, but actually i do not know till now, wich line went where to... :-)
i really would recommend the galeno, it's freshly renovated! so don't worry the pictures, i'm sorry that i did not make some to offer you... but believe my words.
have a nice day.

"Great Bargain"
we stayed here for 5 days and had good service. Hotel is close to Termini station, you can take the 90 express bus and drops you off at Porta Pia. Hotel is 1 block from there. Also, the 36 bus drops you off at Porta Pia stop too. Bus costs 1 Euro, and buy the ticket from the magazine stand at the station or in front on the corner. Make sure you valid ticket once on board bus with the yellow machine. The room is very small, and the bathroom is even smaller. The shower is a challenge because its VERY small. However, they serve breakfast every morning and is close to bus stops. Also, there's a little market down the street to pick up goods at local prices. The service was good, room was clean. For our trip is was perfect, since Rome has so much to do, we hardly spent any time in the room. For the price, it's a place to be considered. We had no problems with our stay.

"Galeno is a winner"
The Hotel is easy to locate with ample signage. It is well located midst many restuarants, stores with the bus stop very close & the metro not far. The Termini and all the major attractions are easily reached. The help is extremely friendly, helpful,& charming. While the rooms are small [so is the price], they are quite clean & comfortable. The water is snazzling hot. Only the total absence of soundproofing makes the Galeno short of perfect for its price range. Your rest is reliant on the loudness & consideration of your fellow guests. I recommend a "white noise" machine to mute this out. I fully intend to return to the Galeno, albeit with a "white noise" machine.

"Galeno - great for the price!"
We booked a trip through Go-Today and weren't sure what to expect when we signed up for the "economy package". To our pleasant surprise, the Galeno Hotel was nice... not very big, but clean and the maids came each morning. We didn't have a phone in our room, but the man at the front desk helped us several times by calling our bus tour company for us. The location is nice... we enjoyed being away from the heavy tourist areas, yet still being close enough to walk to either the bus or the metro. We walked a lot anyway, so the easy 10 minute walk to the bus (or 15 minute walk to the metro) didn't bother us. The walls were thin, but we were usually so tired at night that it didn't matter. We were only in the room for about 8 hours at a time, and for budget travel, I think it was a great place to stay!
