Not as good as it looks
The hotel was somewhat far away from city center, taxi about 25-30 euro (2007). Taxi from airport was about 55 Euros. We got there in the middle of a horrible heatwave, and while it tried its best, the a/c was woefully inadequate. Room was okay, large for European standards, breakfast was okay, but overall, the hotel just had that post-Communist depressing feel to it. The front-desk staff were nice enough, but it is one solid renovation from being worth the effort.

"clean and comfortable"
Golden Tulip Holiday Hotel is a loveþy hotel, we enjoyed very much! The only problem was that it's far away from the city centre. You have to take the tram to the end of the line and then switch to a bus for awhile. Once you get there, though, it's great. The staff was very helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

It is not a high class hotel, nor is it brand new or recently redecorated. Inside the hotel, the reception area was large and spacious.
