"Very Fine Value"
I spent 6 nights in early March, 2006 at the Howard Johnson Da Vinci Hotel. While I received an industry discount, I still found the hotel to be of excellent value even at the regular rates. My quiet room on the third floor faced the back, but the view was hardly unpleasant, and the room was surprisingly spacious. I did have some plumping problems, but such was taken care of quickly. It occurred only once, and all was in order for the rest of my stay. Front desk, food service, bell and housekeeping staff were courteous and provided able assistance when needed.
There was a roof-top pool, gym, and sunning area that I made use of. While such facilities were not luxurious, the small pool and was quite welcome during a humid late summer day. When less humid, the roof-top lounging area made for pleasant "siestas." A full buffet breakfast was included in the rate. The free internet, on a "slow" computer was appreciated. The Tucaman Street location was very convenient to pedestrian Florida Street, a metro stop, a good number of restaurants, shops, a serviceable laundrymat, and big city conveniences one might expect. I would be pleased to return to this hotel.
