It is located in the centre of Cortona, in the fabulous green region of Tuscany, in the heart of an ample and unspoiled area with artistic, historic and scenic value. Within its Etruscan walls, Cortona preserves the evidence of a noble civilisation.

The Italia Hotel offers an ample roof terrace that allows guests to admire the vast and fertile Valdichiana plain and the Trasimeno Lake, a wine bar where the warm atmosphere invites you to taste a good glass of wine, a nice breakfast room with a rich buffet and comfortable bedrooms where spend relaxing moments. "What a beautiful breakfast room!"
Wow! That just about sums up the breakfast room in Hotel Italia located just off Piazza della Repubblica (Via Ghibellina 5/7) in Cortona. Believe it or not this breakfast room could very well become one of the fondest memories of your entire trip. Panoramic windows wrap around this charming yet simple breakfast room on the top floor of Hotel Italia. On a sunny day you may find yourself entranced by the dancing purple martins as they dart and dive over the rooftops of this one time palatial hotel. Strange lilting music perfectly fits the view and the antics of the dancing birds. Watch the clock carefully because it is hard to pull yourself away. Although this hotel is now owned by a large company, the service and friendliness of the staff matches the warmest family owned hotel you can imagine. Maurizio at the desk goes out of his way to respond to your smallest request and you are made to feel welcome and “no trouble at all” from the moment you arrive. We were with a small group and so we were able to see several of the rooms. The management is in the process of renovating the rooms but even the rooms that still need renovation are quite acceptable. The renovated rooms are absolutely lovely and when all the rooms are completed this hotel will really be something!

"Highly recommended for a Cortona stay !"
Hotel Italia located in the centre of Cortona is a warm, comfortable little albergo with charming rooms (the exposed patches of stone in the ceilings and walls remind you this was a 17th century villa) and a spectacular view from its rooftop breakfast room (great spread too!). At under 100 Euro per night, I'd rate this the best value for my tourist dollar across hotels in Italy. Cortona is one of the most beautiful hilltop toewns in Tuscany and Itlaia made it more special !

"Charming Retreat in Cortona"
We stayed in the Albergo Italia for three nights in early June, and enjoyed our stay very much. Its location just off the main square in Cortona is convenient, and quiet. The breakfast room, as other reviewers have noted, is wonderful, with its spectacular views, and our own room was also spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel staff were all very helpful, friendly and responsive to requests. We felt very much at home there and definitely would recommend it to others and would return there ourselves.
