"Good hotel in beautiful surroundings"
Stayed here in July 2006 with my girlfriend in a lake view room. The view was gorgeous though the lake view was somewhat blocked by trees but I am just being fussy. The rooms were bright and clean and bed linen was changed daily. The location is great, just a few minutes walk down to the stunning lake and also a pretty decent Irish bar. Bear in mind that the hotel is very near to a church and bells go off every 15 minutes during the day and for what seemd like 5 minuteas at 06.00!
The hotel itself is a bit 70s but don't let that put you off. The breakfast are buffet style and very decent. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't comment on that.
The only problem I had was that if you wanted to use the pool you had to pay to hire towels and use the sauna. The pool is free to use. I have never come across this before in a hotel and I thought it was a bit of a cheek.
Overall, great location and a thourougly enjoyable place place to stay.

"Highly recommend"
This is a great 3* hotel in a very central location.
The rooms are basic, but very clean and have tv (with good English speaking satelite channels) hairdryer, shaver socket etc. There are no baths, but the shower is adequate.
We stayed on 4th floor with a view of the lake. The views are somewhat obstructed by large trees, however what we could see was lovely. Non lake side overlook houses and a main road.( though this is not busy)
Food is basic and breakfast is uninteresting and repetitive, however if on half board the evening meal has 3 choices. There is a buffet starter and I would advise on making good use of this because although the main courses are varied the portions are very small. That said, the staff serve everything with a smile and will do anything to help you.
The hotel is in a relaxing location and overlooks the lake. To walk from the hotel to lake takes less than 2 minutes and there are no roads to cross as you can walk through the small park. To the town is about 5 minutes, flat walk.
The hotel is on a slight incline so there is a bit of a pull coming back, but I certainly wouldn't say it would cause a problem to those less mobile.Infact the bonus of no busy roads to cross has to outweigh that.
The only downside to this hotel is it's close proximity to the church and its ' working ' chiming bells. This for the first couple of nights is a problem as they chime till late and start very early. The church is almost next door. However I am sure your body will quickly recognise there is no need to wake at every chime and your sleep should resume back to normal
This is a 3 * hotel and one , I feel, worth recommending. The staff are polite, welcoming, rooms and public areas clean , and surrounding area safe with a couple of restaurants and bars close by. If you are looking for lots of nightlife, then this resort is not for you. If you want your breath to be taken away by scenic beauty, then give it a try.
