Hotel Kong Frederik is a four-star deluxe hotel with a unique atmosphere. The hotel was given its current name in 1898. However, the hotel dates back much further. There have been inns, pubs and hotels on the site since the 14th century, which gives the hotel centuries of tradition when it comes to making the customers feel at home. "comfortable and well furnished"
Hotel Kong Frederik is in a great central location. My room was quite small but very comfortable and well furnished. The restaurant was very good and the staff helpful and courteous.

"very old, but well-maintained"
Hotel Kong Frederik is very old, but well-maintained. The rooms are accessed off of long, winding hallways. The hair dryer provided was pretty close to useless. On the other hand, however, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The staff is excellent - pleasant, helpful, informative and efficient.

"Very happy with Kong Frederik."
From check in with extremely courteous staff to check out, this hotel cannot be faulted. Stayed in a larger double room, included a writing desk, two tub chairs, etc. Fortunately it was cool out so the windows were kept shut, the street noise was intrusive when the windows were open. Room was pleasantly furnished and generally very comfortable.
Would definately recommend due to fantastic location. Also health facilities at Hotel D'Angelterre, however that is a 2klm walk away. In spite of that, the facilities are top rate.

"Very European, Great Location"
My family stay in the Hotel Kong Frederik in July 2004 before and after a Baltic cruise. We ended up here because it was recommended to our travel agent by a Danish client. The hotel is very old, but well-maintained. (One of the desk clerks told me that a hotel had existed on that location for almost 700 years but the current building had been there for "only about 100.) If you want a standard "American-type" hotel, stay somewhere else. If you're flexible and want a unique experience, consider this hotel. First what some folks might consider bad points (we considered them part of the adventure): There's no air-conditioning (but remember, you're in Denmark!). The elevator held two people or one person and luggage. The rooms are accessed off of long, winding hallways. The hair dryer provided was pretty close to useless. On the other hand, however, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The staff is excellent - pleasant, helpful, informative and efficient. They were just terrific. And, finally, location, location location!!! It couldn't have been better. The hotel is half a block from Town Center and Stoget. It's within walking distance of just about everything you want to see. If ever we get back to Copenhagen, we will definitely stay here again.
