"the best place to stay in normandy." I had the opportunity to stay at hotel la Cheval Blanc for 4 lovely months in 2003. This was the best extended stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. The staff lives in honfleur and knows all the locals. If you ever need to acquire anything the staff knows where the best place to go is and will show you how to get there. Each room has a wonderful view of the inner harbor. The hotel is over 400 years old but has been updated. The beach and seine river are within walking distance. The location of this hotel allows you the best opportunity to experience france on foot. Each morning breakfest is served french style bread crossiant and a chocolate pastry all baked in the village. Saturday mornings the market starts at 7 am locals sell everything. the best advise the staff gave me was never miss a local festival. The staff will point you to numerous fine inexpensive places to eat. If you stay just ask them where Bob's places to eat were.

"Loved Cheval Blanc" The hotel was charming and so convenient to all the harbor sights. Madame Dupont was a delight and Crystal at the front desk was equally friendly. Our room was small ( we knew that before booking a it was the last room available in all of Honfleur on a busy weekend) but well appointed and had a great shower. The breakfast was good with US newspapers complimentary. We want to return
