"Good Hotel in a beautiful city"
Stayed for a week last summer.
Clean room and bath. Good breakfast, and helpful staff (for the most part). The rooms are small but quite comfortable, and there's minibar and effective airconditioning (the weather was VERY hot when we visited in late July).
It was our first visit to Budapest and Hungary, and it was a highly enjoyable experience. Loved the city! Hope to go back soon!

"Nicest I have stayed at in Budapest"
I travel often to Budapest and stayed at the Liget for the first time in September- I will definetely go back! I booked thru a local service for 79 a night and experienced no rips at the desk as some have reported. Room had AC which worked well, and a big bathroom. Was very clean and in a nice area- just up the street from the Hosok Tere metro stop and several bus stops, so downtown connections were excellent. Desk staff were nice, there are a few small shops down the street, along with small groceries, restaurants, and a beauty shop (which came in handy four weeks into a nine week business trip!). Breakfast buffet was nice, but very crowded- go early or late if you can. Had a nice dinner there one night a well, a little pricey, but lots of food. There is an expensive internet kiosk in the lobby, but bring your laptop and use the WLAN- buy the longer duration (more than 30 minute) card from the desk and you can use it at your leisure. 24 hours doesn't need to be used in one sitting- this will keep your surfing costs down. Enjoy Budapest!

"Authentic spa hotel"
We only stayed at the Hotel Liget for one night on our way to Lake Balaton but we wished it had been longer. The hotel was a local spa for nearby residents and it was fascinating watching them all arrive for their treatments. The pool and grounds were set out attractively and were very clean. We noticed that Hungarians were staying there and using it as a base to travel into Budapest which was about 20 minutes away. The rooms were lovely and en-suites were excellent. A very relaxing swiss chalet appearance hotel with Budapest on your doorstep. It was very cheap for a room and breakfast. . Otherwise a gorgeous hotel.
