"fresh and bright"
Hotel Pedraladda room was great, really fresh and bright, and had a great view, it pays to book a sea view. Didn't really like the shared balcony bit, but other than that, great!
Main negative is that the public areas could do with a bit of a revamp.
A car is needed if you want to tour around, but if you just want to chill and walk into the town of an afternoon or evening, not really necessary.

"Hotel Pedraladda views were breathtaking"
Hotel Pedraladda views were breathtaking. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Friendly atmosphere.
You could hear a lot in between rooms, no soundproofing.

" Amazing"
We stayed here one night in June during a stay in Sardinia. We flew into Alghero, stayed the first two nights in Vilasimius and drove to Castelsardo. It turned out to be about 4 hours, which was longer than we thought, but it was worth it to see both of these charming unique cities. We stopped at a cute beach bar on the way and easily found the hotel as we entered Castelsardo. The town is picturesque, with the castle set high on the hill overlooking the colorful hotel. The outside looked slightly dated, but the rooms were refurbished and very clean. Unfortunately we didn't get a balcony room, but the bathroom, shower and room were perfect for our needs. The pool area is absolutely great. The view of the ocean and city are unsurpassed and there was plenty of room to lounge. The beach is several minutes away by bus, and we were told the bus runs only twice a day. We decided to stay at the hotel for dinner, and it was a great buffet with lots of very tasty pasta, meats, fish and many other items. My husband said the creme brulee was one of the best! The bar area is outdoor and indoor, and is very cute. There was a show the night we were there, but since we didn't speak Italian, it was not too interesting. The language barrier did present a problem at this hotel, since only 1 staff member spoke enough English to answer our questions. So I would recommend brushing up on basic Italian, or asking fellow English speakers for advice. The halls are made of marble, so some people said the echoes were distracting for sleep, but we didn't have a problem. Overall, our visit was extremely romantic and enjoyable and I would highly recommend this hotel and this city.
