"An excellent, pleasant hotel"
What a wonderful hotel. I selected it based on the Trip Advisor reviews, and we weren't disappointed. We only stayed for one night, arriving at 0800 after a trans-Atlantic cruise. Understandably, the room was not ready, but the front desk staff cound not have been more helpful, offering sightseeing and dining advice, and the promise to call our cell phone the moment the room became available.
Great location, with 5 star restaurants mixed in with reasonable alternatives in the immediate area. Luigi the bartender was very nice and entertaining, and the entire staff was very professional, yet extremely nice.
The room was not large, but clean and nicely decorated, and it met our purposes. I look forward to returning to Barcelona, and will make the Hotel Pulitizer my base.

"Comfortable, stylish and well-run"
I really liked the Pulitzer. The people behind the front desk were very helpful, especially Amanda, who is just lovely. We really appreciated Julian Rubio's advance e-mail restaurant reservations and advice. What a big help he was! We especially must thank him for his recommendation to eat at Passadis d'en Pep and Sauc, which were just wonderful.
The location was terrific, as it was close to the Ramblas and Boqueria but far enough away from the madding crowds and noise. The major Metro lines were all nearby.
I had a rear third floor room that was nicely furnished, very clean and comfortable. My friend had a second floor room over the restaurant and she felt it was a bit small and noisy, but overall liked the hotel.
The bed was very good, the flat-screen TV well positioned and the free wireless internet access was reliable and fast. My only (very) minor criticisms: the soap in the bathroom was too small and did not lather very well, and the bathrobe was too small for most men, I would think..
The crowd was for the most part American and stylish, but not snobby or snooty. The espresso in the lobby bar was great. By all means go!

"if you like a hotel with style..."
Excellent hotel. Stylish and central. Stayed there with my girlfriend for 2 nights. Needless to repeat all the good points others have already written on the site. No complaints, for me its a solid 5 on all categories.

"Modern & A Great Location"
I thought this was a lovely little hotel, particularly considering how inexpensive it is. Our room was small but well equiped (not so good for business travel but fine for holidays), clean and very new. The noise of doors banging in the corridor was a little loud, but didn't keep either of us awake after our first night.
The bar was cool without being pretentious, although quite quiet, and the staff were lovely (we did make the effort to use what little Spanish we know, which maybe helps). The hotel's location, right at the top of the Ramblas, is excellent for all the touristy parts of the city.
Next time we go to Barcelona, we're definitely staying here again.

"A Must Stay!"
My daughter and I stayed in Spain for 7 days and ended up at the Pulitzer after our experience at the first hotel went bad. We randomly walked in and asked if they had rooms available and they were able to accomodate us for the remaining of our trip. After reading a few of the reviews about smelly eggs, no hot water, and small rooms. I'm sorry to say but it is Europe, learn to deal. I'm Spanish American and smelly eggs are farm fresh eggs which Americans are not use to eating (our chickens are raised on steroids). The rooms are not as small as people have stated. Yes, there is hot water! If you are like me that only likes 4 stars and above this is the place to stay. You are on the corner of the center near all the top shops and Las Ramblas. The staff is very friendly and helpful with anything you need. The hotel is located in a safe place of town where you can walk at any time of day or night. The breakfast is prepared Spanish style and very fresh and delicious. The rate is not bad at all considering the center location. If you are looking for a great, safe and nice place to stay I totally recommend this hotel.
