"Nice"
Nice little cosy place. Staff were very nice and helpful (for French ppl!) in helping us organise tours and transportation. Bellboys here were friendly. Breakfast was OK, but thats to be expected of French breakfast, consisting of croissants. Bathroom was spacious and clean.

"Give this one a miss!"
We have just returned from an unpleasant four night stay at this hotel in room 33. Both the room and dining area were excessively warm - it was so hot in the bedroom I could not sleep - in August this would be unbearable. The climate controls in the room were not working - fellow guests had a similar experience. These comments were echoed by other guests in the breakfast area. The windows did open but the room faced onto the Rue de la Boetie which is a main thoroughfare for traffic in Paris - very noisy at all hours of the day and night! We made the mistake of not realising breakfast was not included within our package and were confronted with a shocking bill of 68 euros for 3 days worth of breakfast - this amounted to 10 euros each per day for drinks and rolls with an additional mysterious 2 euros added onto this for each day. What I can say in the hotel's favour is the staff were friendly and the room was clean but these other two factors left a bad taste in our mouth. We will not return.

"Quaint"
They had some electricity issues when we arrived and offered to transfer us to another hotel. But we decided to wait it out, and it was worth it. They gave us a big bathroom, it was clean, and the room was spacious. The service at front desk was good too, helped us organise tours and gave suggestions on where to go.

"Will go back"
Hotel Rochambeau is overall a nice little hotel. The free breakfast was nice. Service is ok. At night, it seems secluded. My husband and I walked from Champs Elysees and it was a long walk. Later on, we realized there was a metro stop just a couple blocks from the hotel. During the day, the area is pretty busy, which was nice. The rooms are typically small, which was expected. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. The Monoprix across the street is a plus. St Agustine Church was just around the block. There were plenty of restaurants in the area. Front desk is open 24 hours, which was nice. We would stay there again. The positive definitely outweighs the negative.

"Recommended!"
I stayed at the Rochambeau with my girlfriend for 3 nights over Easter. I've stayed in many, many European hotels and this one is well above average. The roomwas a good size, with comfortable, big bed, desk, chair etc. and a large marble bathroom. It had in-room air-con / temperature control. The buffet breakfast was enjoyable and the restaurant appended to the hotel was excellent - there was live jazz on the night of our visit. The hotel is served by two metro stops, both within a hundred yards, but is a pleasant 15 minute stroll to the Arc de Tripmphe. Cleabn, comfortable and very good value for a 3 star.

It's in the centre, but that's it
The Rochambeau Copatel Hotel in Paris, is located in the centre of Paris, near the St Augustin. Almost everything is walkable, from the Sacre Coeur to the Tour Eiffel. The staff is friendly. But the hotel itself is not so good. The building desperatly needs a painting, and also the rooms are not finished like it should for a 3 star graded hotel. The rooms are small. Also the breakfast room is small, but in itself okay. |
