"Charming Savoy"
This is a quality hotel slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Prague. 20 min taxi from airport and you're there. You can be at the Palace in 10mins and Charles bridge in 20mins - on foot. There is a tram stop right outside if you want to use that as propsed to walking. Rooms are lovely and spacious - separate shower and WC. Hotel seemed very quiet and staff were very helpful. Buffet breakfast was fab except dont expect the fry up to be hot - luke warm at best! This seems to be the way over here! A pianist entertains in the restaraunt and although we ate out , I d expect the food was very good and lunch and dinner. We stayed four nights - 3 would be plenty for this city. We got a decent price in Feb - its well worth it!

"Beautiful hotel"
Stayed at the Savoy for 4 nights at the end of March 07. Staff were amazing (BA lost our luggage for 24 hrs and staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out, providing a hotel car to take us to get basic clothing etc). The room (upgraded to deluxe) was spotless and luxurious. Breakfast in the bedroom every morning was fabulous. Free minibar restocked daily, turn down service every evening and a bottle of complimentary champagne was delivered to the room on my birthday. Genuinely couldn't find anything to fault the Savoy. Very elegant and romantic hotel, worth spending the extra money for a very special experience.

"Stay here if you want old-fashioned courtesy and class"
Charming old-fashioned hotel with fabulous staff. We stayed 3 nights in a junior suite although would have preferred the 8th floor as it apparently has much better views. 2nd floor view a little claustrophobic. However, room was comfortable, beds heavenly, bathroom very large and excellent shower. All 100% clean. Buffet breakfast superb, although would agree with previous reviewer that "English Style" is lukewarm. I ate loads of beautiful smoked fish. Restaurant is again traditional service - delightful- and our meals were absolutely superb - mineral water overpriced but all else reasonable for 5 star hotel. My husband had gone to Prague for dental treatment (Major stuff - implants etc.) so I was left to my own devices much of the time. I am partly disabled and the staff could not have been more helpful without being remotely patronising. They were "just there"without request. They also bought my husband ice-packs for pain during the night and were really sympathetic to his plight!! All languages no problem - most staff can switch from Czech/English/German/Russian/French-totally amazing. I must send special thanks to Henry (the doorman etc.)for his local knowledge and unfailing kindness to us both and to dear Tanja Dandarova (Guest Relations Manager) - the very best - and I've been lucky enough to stay in the world's best hotels.

"Luxury Hotel near the Castle"
We stayed at the Savoy for two nights in May 2007 and would definately recommend it. The rooms were a very good size and luxuriously decorated. The king size bed was very comfortable and it was a nice touch that the minibar was complimentary. Breakfast in the hotel was also very good. There was a good selection of cereal, bread, pastries, cooked and continental items. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated and staff were very efficient. The hotel generally was decorated to a very high standard and deserving of its place as member of the leading hotels of the world. The hotel has two private Mercedes E Class cars which guests can use and the set price fare is actually very similar to the price of a taxi which was unexpected. We contacted the hotel in advance of our stay and arranged private airport transfers which was very convenient. The hotel is about 20 minutes away from the airport. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to make use of the spa facilities due to a busy schedule of sightseeing. Prague really is beautiful and if you are interested in architecture it really is a treat. The Savoy is a fantastic choice if you want to be close to the castle and cathedral which are just around the corner, however it is a 35-40 minute walk to Wenceslas Square/ the Old Town and about a 25 minute walk down to Charles Bridge. The majority of restaurants/theatres/river cruises begin on the opposite side of the river and it costs around £10 each way in a taxi. If you would prefer a hotel closer to Wenceslas Square/Old Town, we noticed that the Palace Hotel Praha is very close to Wenceslas Square and is owned by the same group. Beware of the trams - the tram stops do not all have ticket machines and spot checks are frequent. On our first trip on the tram, we assumed that you bought the ticket on the tram if there were no machines at the tram stop, however we were fined about £13 each for not having a ticket when we asked to buy one! It was only about 50 pence for a ticket and they are sold at newsagents and hotels.

"A Great Choice"
I stayed with my family in mid January; the hotel is very welcoming with a wonderful log fire burning in the library. The rooms are smart, with very comfortable beds and the best pillow you could imagine. The Hradcany restaurant is superb and all the staff are absolutely delightful, also all the rooms have a free mini bar

"Wonderful stay, great hotel"
My boyfriend and I spent three nights at the Savoy in mid July. Our time there was simply wonderful - the hotel is well located in a quiet spot close to the Prague Castle, a short walk from main streets. It is quite an uphill walk from the Old Town so keep that in mind if this is an issue for you. The small touches made our stay a delight - turning down the sheets during the afternoon, complimentary slippers (and mini-bar!), considerate and helpful staff. We wouldn't hesitate to return. The Savoy is worth the extra money if a relaxed, high quality hotel is top of your list. Try the Italian restaurant next to the Strahov Monastery (2 mins from the Savoy) for dinner - the view is magnificent, especially during dusk. The lasagne was delicious!

"A special treat!"
We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Prague where, in honour of my husband's 40th birthday, we splashed out and treated our selves by staying at the Savoy Hotel. Well worth the extra cost, though this was made less painful by the 3 nights for the price of 2 offer which we were able to take advantage of. The standard of accommodation was high, cleanliness could not be faulted and service was excellent with the exception of the 'concierge' who we asked for some information, but did not find her particularly helpful. Tram stops outside hotel, so no problem getting to centre, though a taxi back was only 200czk anyway. We were glad that we had chosen to stay in this areas as opposed to the more central squares, as we found it nice to get away from the busier areas after a hard day's sight seeing. Particularly recommend exploring the castle area in the evening time, whilst another bonus of staying in this area was that food and drinks were often cheaper, though not in the Savoy! To counter balance the more expensive drinks prices, the complimentary mini bar was refilled every day without fail!! We have had a fantastic first visit to Prague and con not wait to make a return - preferably back to the Savoy!!
