Hotel Silva, founded in 1956, is a 1920s villa located in one of most beautiful areas in Rome. This hotel is corrently enjoy a new lease of life. Although its facade remains one of the most beautiful of the 1920s, under the regulations of the Ministry of Cultural Patrimony, the interior is being restructured and remodernized, taken back to its original splendour.

"Good Value, Clean & Friendly"
The hotel is good value, however, there is not much close by in the way of shops, restaurants etc, but its only a 5 minute walk to Piazza Bologna and the Metro. The No. 62 bus is ideal for Central Rome and all the sights. The restaurant 'Sud' next door was excellent. We found all the staff friendly & helpful and would recommend this hotel for a short break.

"Good Hotel Reasonably priced"
We stayed at Hotel Silva during the busy period of August. As a three star hotel it really did exceed our expectations. The room was a reasonable size, with two single beds, and a mini fridge. The bathroom was very clean, with a powerful shower, with plenty of hot water. The hotel provided breakfast. Even though it was quite basic (and quite sugary!) this was to be expected! There were croissants, cereal, juice and coffee; although the coffee had to be specifically asked for. The hotel was situated near Piazza Bologna, and was a five minute walk from the Bologna Metro Station, which is on Metro Line B, which connects to Line A via Termini (Rome's major station). There were also plenty of bus routes around! The Hotel was near a few pretty parks, although some of the streets around were lacking in facilities. Although there were some bars/restaurants and shops in Piazza Bologna. The reception staff were generally helpful, and always greeted us whenever we walked by. The maids were very efficient, and cleaned the rooms every day. The only unfriendliness we experienced, was from the night clerk, but this did not really affect our trip that much! Despite this he was helpful. Hotel Silva is a good hotel, for those looking to stay in Rome. It is at the upper band of the three star rating, and we would recmmend anyone to stay there!
